Intramuros Escapade #2 :) Casa Manila Museum

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

History:

Casa Manila is a museum in Intramuros depicting colonial lifestyle during Spanish colonization of the Philippines.

The museum is the imposing stone-and-wood structure c. 1850, one of the grand houses in Barrio San Luis (one of the four original villages of Intramuros) is located across historic San Agustin church and bounded by Calle Real, General Luna, Cabildo and Urdaneta streets. The other two are the Los Hidalgos, c. 1650 and Cuyugan Mansion, c. 1890.Source

Casa Manila is a copy of an 1850s San Nicolas House that was once located in Calle Jaboneros. The architect of Casa Manila was J. Ramon L. Faustmann. It was constructed by Imelda Marcos during the 1980s and modeled on Spanish colonial architecture.

Inside Casa Manila , during our visit we witnessed a prenuptial preparation . Think the prenup is memorable in this place because this is surrounded by old architectural structures.

By the way before entering the casa , you need to read first the guidelines and you have to pay for the amount indicated . For adult its php 75.00 and for children , students and teachers with ID php 50.00 while for senior citizen a charged of php 50.00 is also implemented.

Nice post sis. I don't think I've been here sa Casa Manila museum mismo. Usually, photoshoot lang kami sa churches jan. But that has been years ago. Dumaan kayo National Museum narin I'm sure?

thanks sis... actually i am not familiar with the place. Ang son ko lang nag aya, then ayun nag libot kami. Last year we've been at National Museum ,already think twice na kami nakapunta, my son loves to draw his inclined in Arts , so mahilig talaga kami mag punta sa ganitong place.

That's great to know sis. Inclined to arts pala ang anak mo so visiting these places are a treat for him I'm sure :)

This is really worth a visit. It is walking back in time and I can't help but remember what we have been taught in school about Noli and El Fili. It's great that they are maintaining this. I hope they can continue to do so because this is a historical and important part of our history.

Those bamboo bikes are really ingenius. There is an organic quality to it and very Filipino.

They should have a photo booth with complete set of traditional costumes then. That would complete the experience.
