Dear Mr. Brendan,
I am writing to request your authorisation to attend a 5 day seminar on “effective ways of improving written and spoken communication" which was suggested by my team leader Mrs. Murray. The course will take place during the last week of next month, from 26th to 30th of September; the venue WILL BE the city culture house and the fee will be 200 EuroS.
I have been working IN this position for over 5 years AND I can safely say that despite recent achievementS and THE promising lookout FOR our sales, miscommunication has been prevalent and employees often fail to cope with the growing problems. Many workers are reportedly sitting on the fence and ponderING what to do. In terms of client retention, it would be common sense that we should somehow reverse this UNFORTUNATE tendency, otherwise all of my loyal customers MAY leave us. THE IMPORTANCE OF effective communication CAN not be overstressed.
Therefore, I strongly believe that attending this course will boost my confidence at work as it will provide me with extra tools to understand and tackle many challenging issues.
The seminar will consist of strategies to enhance clarity and WILL help IN improving communication, not only between THE company and clients but also between departments. FURTHERMORE I will be able to improve my interpersonal skills, which is vital for the company.
Upon completion of this seminar, I would be happy to devise a short course for my fellow colleagues based on the SALIENT points learned from it, which I firmly believe will benefit our department and as a result of this might double the number of clients; it will definitely help clear the stainED image of the company.
I am fully aware that my hiatus will put a tremendous amount of stress on my colleagues’ shoulders and they will have to deal with a huge amount of pressure and additional workloads while I attend the seminar. Despite this DRAWBACK, I still think that it WOULD be worthwhile FOR the company and AND FOR MYSELF in the long term. It WOULD be a win-win situation.
