#Ulog No4: The Fun Lesson With Letter A

Having worked with children for many years, I have always thought that children learn through their hands.

To teach the children about letters, I teach them to play games and activities with cutting, pasting, coloring, and molding with play-doh.

These activities help the child to improve their ability of observe. Hand-eye coordination increases neural connections, making them smarter and dexterous.

And the most important thing is to make fun for children when they study. As children like it, they can learn quickly.

Today I teach the letter A. Below I would like to share some of the activities related to this letter

Activity With Play-doh

Play-doh is not only considered a toy but also a useful tool to bring many useful values to the development of young children. Many parents fear to play dirt play-doh. Or they are scared when the kids put it in the mouth. That's why they usually forbids children to play play-doh. But in my class is different.

I gave them the freedom to mold the letter A and paste it on the piece of paper I had prepared before.

So they will be improved visibility better when the right paste with the photo.
In my opinion, playing play-doh helps children have the opportunity to develop good motor skills. Eye coordination can be faster and more flexible. They will also practice more skillful and careful hands.
Nowadays, the market sells many types of play-doh, but they may contain chemicals that affect the health of children. So I make it with powder and color by myself.
Although they are not as good looking as they are in the store, I think it's safer. And the health of the children is the most important.

Activity With Buttons

The parents in Viet Nam usually take precautions and avoid getting away from buttons. So when I organize this game I have to look very carefully. Nowadays the preschool level overseas, the button is also a kind of instructional program, especially in Montessori schools.

In order to play games with buttons, it is indispensable for the hands of children. As I mentioned above: Children's creations are made up of hands and fingers, if children actively use their hands and fingers, their brain will be trained.

When playing this game requires the use of fingers to peel, tear, thread etc., very clever and meticulous. The different movements of fingers will help the child with reflexive dexterity.

I often guide children before playing. And I think playing with them is the same way to learn faster and have fun moments.

Activity With Coloring

Basic coordination skills such as how to hold crayons, sharpen the pens and see what color should be used appropriately can help children significantly. Color is to force children to fill in the designated area. This helps develop a harmonious combination of hands and eyes in children. It also helps to increase your child's awareness.

I organized this activity is to help the children focus. When drawing often, children will become more observant when watching the world around them. Light, color, gloss, small details etc., can help the child's drawing delicate and depth. The child's eyes will gradually be "trained" to analyze complex structures or fragments that are easily overlooked. As a result, the concentration of the brain will be significantly improved.
