ULOG S2018E016: Oslob Beaching

in #ulog6 years ago

Currently back in the city! It was another hassle traveling back to Cebu City as the buses were full, we waited from 5:30 PM to quarter to 8 PM. There were six or seven buses which didn't let us hop in because they were all full, most passengers were already standing just so they could travel back to the city. My husband was already telling me how tourism had caused this when they were still young and they have to go to the city, it would not take long for them to get a ride and that they're able to secure seats for themselves but now, things had changed a lot!

Anyways, before we traveled back to the city, we went to the public beach just a few walks away from parents in law's house.

The skies were blue and the tropical trees are just waving at us, looked like they want some company! I really want to eat some fresh coconut meat and drink fresh buko juice but unfortunately, no one was available to climb the coconut tree!

We passed by my favorite Acacia trees. These trees are just right beside the road and I love how they are giving shade. Its refreshing to see their leaves green now.

Shrubs and grasses paved our way towards the beach.

Although the beach shore in Lagunde Oslob has white rocks, they have clear waters and a spot in the water which has find sand so we love to stay in that spot whenever we go swimming.

And because most of the locals are fishermen, their boats are just docked in this part of the beach. They even have set up their own tiny sleeping quarters which one of them I had taken a photo below.

James @panoramicview posing. There were a few rubbish in the shore, James said it is normal during these days but they'll clear up after a few weeks. I could see plastic garbage, made my heart sad.

I looked up and saw these coconut trees and the blue skies, they are a perfect match!

Some boats have been covered by dead and dried coconut leaves. Here's one of them. These leaves are helpful specially at night. In the province back in Bohol, we use this as a make shift light before.

Feet selfie, can you see my left feet scar? I have a funny story for that but I guess I will have to share that in the next blogs. As you can see, the beach here is full of these white stones. I took some photos of the things I found on the beach shore:

20180520_074219.jpg

This is a fruit of some tree or shrub growing near the beach, I don't know its name though or how this fruit is referred to, my husband also had no idea, but this is a common sight in beach shores.

20180520_074315.jpg

Shells of different variety can also be spotted.

The sea was really calm yesterday, it was very inviting. I took this photo to showcase the stones and shells while using the beach and the skies as background.

This would have been a perfect time to go swimming with the whale sharks because the water is calm and it would be easier to swim as there's no strong water current. However, we missed bringing our waterproof action camera which we regret a lot. As locally registered individuals here, we only pay Php 50 for the whale shark swimming while tourists who are not from Oslob pay Php 500. I personally feel that there's a dire need to lower the fee, however, there are still a lot of tourists coming in to see these creatures which are, by the way, a controversial thing.

James flew his drone to have an idea how this part of the town looks like from far above. It's quite interesting to really see a bird's eye view of the land. It is really nice to have a drone, I am glad that although I crashed it a few months ago, it is still functional.

I am glad to see a lot of trees instead of buildings in this part of the land. The waters and the skies are really calm and blue, so relaxing!

After flying the drone, James went swimming and I had to skip it because it was scorching hot. I had already swim yesterday night too.

Before heading back home, here's what I was referring to earlier, a tiny house made of light materials where fishermen would sleep and rest if they can't afford to go back home after or before fishing.

And a last photo of the coconut trees before walking back home. It was a nice day except for the travel back to the city.

All photos were taken on a Samsung Note FE by yours truly. Drone shot by @panoramicview on a DJI Spark.

How about you? How was your Sunday?
