Ulog Day 1 - Hugyaw Tu Agusan 2k18: A celebration of the Lord's goodness

"YOUR KINGDOM COME YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN." - Matthew 6:10

Annually, the youths all over Agusan del Sur including those who are outside the province gathers together to celebrate the goodness of the Lord through the activity HUGYAW TU AGUSAN.

According to http://www.binisaya.com/cebuano/hugyaw Hugyaw is a visayan word meaning to roar. This implies that whoever will join will have to shout and praise the name of Jesus in any way.

This activity comprises of different presentations, it may be a band presentation, dance, sing, and any other way of showcasing the talents given by the Lord Jesus. The said presentations fills the first part of the program. The second part is the worship celebration - praise and worship led by the Ablaze Band then is followed by the Word of God and the singing of victory songs.

Every year, Hugyaw Tu Agusan has its theme and this year's theme is Upward Falling.

As what the speaker in this year's Hugyaw Tu Agusan, the theme is very timely and relevant to the youths nowadays because they easily fall into so many things like addiction, premarital sex, vices, and illegal love which leads to falling into sins. So instead of falling for those worldly desires, why not indulge yourself into falling upward? The falling in which you won't get yourself hurt. The falling which is true and pure. The falling in love which will lead you to the betterment of yourself. The falling which is righteous. The falling for the God above and for the heavenly things.

It is indeed a celebration of the Lord's goodness because I felt the presence of God in the venue and it is very overwhelming. I enjoyed every part of the activity especially the second part. The speaker was very entertaining and you won't get bored and sleepy in listening to him because he throws jokes and punch lines. Although his preaching is funny, what he says always makes a point and it gets through my soul, making me emotional. And at the last part of his preaching, he commanded all of us to go in front and confess everything to God. I was hesitant at first but when I felt the presence of God, I couldn't care about anything anymore. What was in my mind at that time is that I have to surrender my all into Him. I am already a born-again Christian but I'm living a life that's not in the right path. I commit mistakes and sins, yes. And at that time, I was reminded that I should only worship God and I should live a righteous life which is aligned into His will. I am very grateful that I joined Hugyaw Tu Agusan because once again, I fell in love with God :)

The last part of the program was the singing of the victory songs and together with the other youths, we jumped, sang and worshiped the Lord. It was a very memorable and satisfying moment. Even though I didn't eat my dinner yet, but my spirit was very full with the Word of God. It is fun being with those youths who worships God.
