Ulog-Quote # 3 (Bilingual)
Dear Steemians,
Responding to @surpassinggoogle’s invitation to start a new “never-ending contest”, as he calls it, I decided to post my third ulog-quote.
The so-called bolivarian revolution (yes, in small letters) has ruined Venezuela in ways that go way beyond the financial debacle
economists have written so much about. The moral destruction is the one I mourn; that is the one I think it will take the longest to recover from. People are growing accustomed to making adjustments. We renounce every day some aspect of our humanity to clench to life hoping that when things change we can recover.
La mal llamada revolución bolivariana (sí, en minúsculas) ha arruinado Venezuela en formas que van mucho más allá de la debacle financiera
sobre la cual los economistas han escrito tanto. La destrucción moral es la que yo lloro; de esa creo nos tomará más tiempo recuperarnos. La gente se está acostumbrando a hacer ajustes. Renunciamos cada día a algún aspecto de nuestra humanidad para aferrarnos a la vida esperando que cuando las cosas cambien recobraremos nuestro antiguo ser.
I fear the abyss our fragmented humanity is falling down to may be too deep for us to salvage the dignity and courage we have lost so far.
Temo que el abismo por el que está cayendo nuestra cada vez más fragmentada humanidad sea demasiado profundo como para que salvemos algo de la dignidad y el valor que hemos perdido.

Es cierto. La adversidad nos mide, nos prueba, saca lo peor o lo mejor... Conservar la integridad es ahora muy importante y también vital.

Triste realidad venezolana en la que, los que aún perseveramos en esta hermosa patria destruída por unos pocos, sufrimos y morimos lentamente. Que Dios nos ayude.. :(
