Ulog No. 57: "Google Play Store not installed on my newly purchased Android Tablet"

I purchased an Android tablet from eBay and received it today. I recharged it first until it had a full battery before I turned it on for the first time. I was very excited, but much to my dismay, I found out that the tablet didn't have Google Play Store. Basically, without the Play Store, I would not be able to install anything at all, like Acrobat Reader, Facebook, Facebook Messenger.

So I googled for solutions to this problem. Apparently, I had to install an APK file. I followed all the instructions, but I am always getting the error: "There was a problem while parsing the package."

I found this site https://google-installer.en.uptodown.com/android/download and downloaded the installer on the computer and transferred the file into the SD card.

Then I inserted the SD card into my tablet and executed the Google Installer 2.0 APK file, which contains the following:

• Google Services Framework
• Google Account Management
• Google Play Service
• Google Calendar Synchronization
• Google Contacts Synchronization
• Google Play Store

The download was 100% complete, and I thought the whole process was successful. However, when I opened the Play Store, I received this error:

I reinstalled the App several times, but after 2 hours trying to fix this problem, I gave up.

I've learnt one thing: DON'T BUY ANDROID TABLETS FROM EBAY. Some sellers claim that their location is Australia, but the truth is they are from China.

It's entirely my fault. Just because I wanted to buy the cheapest brand, I impulsively bought the product without thinking it could be faulty, or there's no warranty, or where exactly the item location is. I didn't do thorough research before buying the product. Now I know that Chinese phones and other devices don't have Google Play Services after trying to find for solutions to my problem. It has something to do with their government policies on censorship or whatnot!

I guess it will only be fixed by someone who's a real genius. But now, I give up! There's really not much I can use the tablet for except for playing music or simple internet browsing. Of course, I gave the seller negative feedback and requested for a refund. I don't mind paying for postage to return the product. Never again will I buy tablets or phones from China.
