Hey there Steemit fam! This is my first ulog entry and I’m pretty excited about starting this. I’ve had a few friends from @Steemitmamas do one and I really enjoyed reading there’s so I wanted to give it a shot.

It’s Sunday June 10th at 11:37AM and I lay here in my bed as my husband is up taking care of the kids. Yep that’s plain olé Pregnant me in the picture. I am now approaching my 40th week of pregnancy this Wednesday and I am feeling quite miserable. Two days ago I caught a cold from my kids which included a sore throat. So yes at first I was anticipating the baby coming soon...like telling her she could come ANYtime now...like Before 40 weeks. That has changed since I got sick. What woman wants to deliver her baby while she’s sick and feeling weak? I need ALL of the energy I can muster up and this just ain’t cuttin it. So my conversation with my daughter has changed. I am now encouraging her to hold out a little longer until mommy feels better. “Please baby girl wait for me to go from this 🤒😩 to this 💪🏼😃!”

In the meantime I’ve managed to get some of her things organized. We’ve been ordering from Amazon quite a bit because I’m the type of mama that likes to have the supplies I need beforehand.

You’ll see from the pic above some of the items I deem “necessary” when bringing home a newborn (bassinet, diapers, breast pump, nursing pads, baby wrap). This will be my first time wearing my baby. I decided to try the Baby K’tan for this purpose. Since I homeschool and have a wild and curious one year old running around all day, I feel the baby will be safer on me the entire day. I don’t feel comfortable with laying her down around the house due to curious hands that may reach for her. I’ve also heard great things about having them close to you and being able to nurse easily right there on the spot when their ready.

This pregnancy came by surprise as I felt I was getting too old (this is me personally ladies no offense to you older mommies 💓) to have another child. I will be 37 in September and this is my fifth round. I’m tired, my body aches and hasn’t had enough time to recover from the other births. I admit that as we started getting her baby clothes and supplies the more excited I became because I realized God is giving us another child to be stewards over. Every life is a blessing and should be cherished. Parenting is truly a privilege! We are especially thankful for another life because we experienced losing one when I miscarried one of our twins in 2016.

You know you must really love a plattform when you’re feeling like I’m feeling and have this HUGE belly weighing you down but yet still want to make time to blog, ulog and vlog. I had plans to get another episode of my crochet series filmed but that wasn’t happening this week. So here I am ulogging away instead because I love being on Steemit so much. I’m having consistent mild contractions, my hips shift out of place every time I stand, it feels like this baby is gonna just roll out of me any minute now, I can’t breathe through my nose, my throat hurts when I swallow, my sciatica nerve has been going crazy, I can’t stop blowing my nose, my lower back is killing me and I can barely stand for two minutes without wanting to fall over...yet here I am! 😊 We gotta keep moving right? I still have four other children to take care of and there’s no pause in parenting. Oh and did I mention all of them were sick too? Haaa oh Life is a Wonderful thing!!! We gotta keep pushing and persevering to get through the day.

Well it’s 12:10PM now I guess I better go and show my face to my family so they’ll know I’m still alive lol! I wonder if my sweet husband is making me breakfast today? I wonder if my sweet obedient and well behaved children (Ha on a good day 😅) have made their beds and picked up their rooms? These are some of the things a wishful mom wishes. I admit it sure was nice sleeping in and sharing ME with YOU today, thanks for listening. Hopefully you’ll be seeing a post from me soon introducing our new baby girl to the fam~ 💕

That baby belly is just gorgeous😘

I hate that your feeling crappy 😥

Great necessities!
I think you'll love the Ktan! Its so easy to use! I prefer a woven wrap,or soft structured carrier after about 15lbs though. The stretchy type get too saggy imo. Feel free to hit me up if you want carrier suggestions!

I was double teamin it today (friend's baby).PicsArt_06-12-10.34.43.png

And learning to nurse while wearing is a game changer!🙌🙌received_10155015583237121.jpeg

Oh wow I've not nursed in my ssc yet, I hope I can do that soon! My baby doesn't like the ssc as much as his sister did, maybe I've not been wearing him as much. I have a ring sling too but I feel more secure using my carrier coz I know he won't easily pop out when he tries to stretch 😅 @crosheille you can consider getting one when baby is bigger next time, it really frees you more when you're out and about in your daily routine. Soon and very soon now, get well Godspeed!

Yes we have a sturdy carrier for when she’s older. I wanted the K’tan because of the stretchy lightweight material for around the house. Something that would be more comfortable for my back. When she’s older and we start getting our more I’ll switch to the other one. 😉

Thank you @corrielaine! I’m so glad I’m feeling better as far as the cold.

Wow look at you Pro Mom!! I heard that it’s doable to nurse while the baby is in the K’tan. We actually have a carrier like yours for when she’s older. I wanted something more comfortable and stretchy for carrying her around the house when she’s firstborn . Then later on I’ll switch to our more secure and sturdy one. I hope I can get the hang of nursing her while she’s in the wrap. Thanks for sharing ~

Hey @corrielaine, do you have a good ssc to recommend? I have a 5 year old ergo and my back pain is killing me. I see the newer models come with lumbar support but am sitting on the fence whether to get a new one. I mean if these lumbar support stuff does not work there's no point getting a new one.

I dont know that the lumbar support really do anything, but ive not tried it.

However, i feel that not all ssc's are made equally.

Ergos dont fit me well, they hurt my back.
I prefer Tula or Kinderpack. I feel like they are more balanced and supportive :)

Oh cool, i’ll check out Tula and kinderpack. Thanks!

Congrats!! I hope you recover from your cold super quick so you can be strong and well for delivery! I love that "wowsers" photo, lol. In my family, my mom had my brother at 40 and my grandma had my uncle at 42! 37 isn't old. ;)

Thank you! Lol that’s what I say to myself sometimes when I look at my belly! Thanks for that...I think I feel that way mainly because my body feels broke down from having my children back to back. However I don’t want to have children in my 40’s because I can imagine how much harder that would be. But I do tip my hat to those women that have done so! I think it’s amazing! 😊

For sure, close together can be depleting for you. Take care of yourself, gets lots of rest, and eat lots of nutritious foods! 💛

Thank you will do! 😉

have a healthy pregnancy. I am surprised too. Also nice to you hear your happy family life. I don't know but is it hard to exercise homeschooling? It was not possible here and maybe when here was British rule, we had homeschooling system.

Thank you @azizbd! Yes it varies in different countries. Some are able to do it more freely than others. Even though we are free to homeschool we still have to be cautious and keep track of our records. I appreciate you stopping by. 😊

Oh, not a good moment to catch a cold... but I'm sure you'll be fine in the end. And it will make for a fun memory a year from now...'remember that terrible cold I had...'
We'll be waiting for the good news!! Pictures, too!

No it’s definitely not a good time to be sick. Yes I can see me referring back to this moment one day! 😄 Thanks for stopping by!

Looking forward to sharing~

Hope you feel better soon, and that baby heeds mama's wishes! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I sure hope so too~ 😊

Wow 40th week. Safe and happy delivery. One more student be in your home-school classroom. ;-)

Yep it’s about that time! Thank you for the well wishes! Yes our homeschool class is growing :D

First off congratulations and secondly I hope you get over the cold quickly and feel healthy and ready for the baby to come into the world

Sending positive and healing energy

Thank you very much! I am really trying to nip this cold in the bud.

Good luck
Now I am starting to feel a cold it must be going around

I hope you’re all better now!

Thanks slowly getting there, now just need to get my Wife better :)

No problem...I hope she’s better by now.

Good Luck - I'm sure your hubby will be doing lots extra around the house today and for the next few weeks. :)

Thank you! Oh yes he’s fully prepared and has been doing extra all ready :D

Aw, I hope you get better FAST! And that is a beautiful belly - I see baby, not flab, and that is fantastic for any pregnancy but especially a fifth. Doing great, Mama, just gotta kick that cold.

This happened to us with Daniel, too - we got a really terrible cold the week he was due and I was very concerned he'd be born during the middle of it. That sore throat during end of pregnancy was definitely miserable. Yikes!

Thankfully, he was born well after everyone was better...my one and only "late" baby! God answered every prayer and Daniel was born when no one was sniffling or coughing. It was worth the extra days inside, too - he was far, far, far and away my easiest delivery.

I'm only two years behind you in age and our next will be our fifth (no, not expecting...but doubt that'll be long!) This is the first time I've actually felt like I needed to deliberately wait to recover because it seems like there's been barely a breath between babies. My back seems to be sore all the time.

BUT...I also know all the moms of big families in my experience had their last babies around 46 so I expect to have a few years of childbearing left. :D

Thank you so much for your support! Yes I am really trying to get rid of it fast.

Wow that’s awesome that everyone got well before he arrived. Thanks for that encouragement, God truly answers prayers and I believe He will answers ours.

I can resonate with that. That’s mainly why we decided to be finished after this one. I’ve been having babies since 2010 and literally the longest break has been three years in between. I can’t imagine having babies in my 40’s because my body feels so broke down now and this has been the hardest one yet. I do respect and admire those women that can and have had children in their 40’s and beyond. The beauty of it is you can keep having them if that’s your desire, you do have some years left for it ;D

Thanks so much for your comment. I always enjoy our conversations~

Once upon a time I wouldn't have understood feeling at the end of having babies. I don't think I'm there yet, but I can understand a lot better being at that point. My longest break has been 14 months since 2012 and I'm starting to really feel the effects. I'm working hard to get everything back healthy and in shape, but it's taking longer than it did and I feel pretty worn at times too.

Yes, I'm grateful there are some years left so if there does have to be a break, at least there is time for it without saying we have to stop now.

I enjoy our conversations too. You're on my mind, you and Little Princess.

That’s really good you are trying to get everything ready and healthy. You definitely are going to need that.

It’s so different the older we get. Like normally I’m back on my feet within a few days after giving birth. This time...haaaa oh no, I’m out! I am so broken inside and bruised and sore that I know it’s gonna take me a few weeks to heal this round . Of course most of it being I pushed a 9 pound baby through the birth canal and she was posterior for most of the labor which caused major back pains that I am still feeling.

Thanks for thinking of us~ 💕

I missed the birth announcement!!!!!!! I'm going to find it now, but Congratulations!!!

It's funny how different each birth is, too. Elaina - two babies ago - was just a rough birth for whatever reason and it took me several weeks to get back on my feet. Then Daniel came, he was bigger, he was late, I was older...and I felt great after his birth.

Now, Elaina was posterior...hm. Maybe that's the key. Yeah, my back hurt for several days afterward.

Thank you!

Yes it’s like you never know what to except with each one. Wow that’s something how he was bigger and late but it was easier for you.

Yes I believe the posterior issue has a huge effect. I have never had back pains like that before and I have never felt so “broken”. I feel like if I move the wrong way my hips will break. That and pushing for over an hour just tour me up! 😳 Every time I thought it was over my midwife would say “she’s almost here”...I’m like “she’s not here yet?” 😩😩😩 lol
