Discrimination

Discrimination is the denial of opportunity or equal rights for a specific group of people that maybe differentiate in such things. They might be discriminated with their religion, skin color or complexion, with their gender, their race and many more.

Discrimination runs against the most fundamental values of a modern society. It may occur in may places one could think of, it may occur in workplaces, in schools, public places, and many more we could think of. Addition to this, it is also a threat to democracy, which is predicated on the idea of a society in which arbitrary hierarchies and preferences based on, for example gender, ethnic origin, and wealth have been eliminated with a view to achieving equality. This way of thinking and treating people spread throughout the world, without thinking on what people would feel.

Some employers tend to hire and not hire people depending on what and who are they. Some didn't give an applicant a chance to prove themselves because of the religion they are into.

Students tend to bully their classmates who's hair is curly and having a black or dark complexion.

The world always face the problem of discrimination. In a country there is at least one type of discrimination that affects different group of people. For example, the most famous type of discrimination we know in a country is the discrimination among the black Americans and white Americans.
Black Americans or also the African Americans are are an ethnic group of Americans with a total or partial ancestry from any of the black groups in Africa (source). According to history, black or african americans are descendants of the enslaved black people who are from the United States. Another example of discrimination in a country can be found in my own country, in the Philippines.

Discrimination to Philippines occur among the tribal groups that can be found in the Philippine mountains. There are Igorot, Mangyan, Badjao and many more tribes that can be found in the Philippines. Some of these tribes still is not coping to the present technology, still using cultural ways of preparing foods, getting foods, making handcrafts, and living their daily life. It's wonderful seeing many traditional tribes in the Philippines still do exist but somehow it is also sad seeing them being discriminated.
Maybe Filipinos adopted the thinking of discriminating others to the Spanish peoples that try to occupy the Philippines way back then. As we can recall Spanish peoples tend to call Filipinos negritos and indios. The way some Filipinos treat the traditional tribes in the Philippines was somehow like the Spanish treating our ancestors.

I wish the thinking of discriminating others will stop and make love all around the world

It is actually sad when we think of it. I have worked with charities for indigenous people like Aetas and one prevalent thing that I see is the discrimination that they are uneducated and can be exploited.

I feel you when you wrote this and understand why we feel bad about it.

Yes, I do remember the time when I was in our province. I saw some Mangyan people being discriminated despite of them trying very hard to suit in our "so-called world".

No matter how hard they try they still feel discriminated, bullied because of what they are and where they came from.
Hope we really remove this thinking because we are all alike
