Jones Blood Test A Day After The Urine Test Comes Out Clean

As you may already know Jones pissed hot for turinabol, an anabolic steroid, a while ago. Now a blood test from the very next day as the urine test comes clean. Everyone seems to be making a huge deal of this. Many people believe that this means the positive test was a false positive. I also was encouraged by the results, but after 5 more minutes of research it became clear this news really doesn't mean much.

Here's what a USADA spokesperson said about the issue:

The prohibited anabolic steroid turinabol is only tested for in urine screens and not in blood tests. Urine and blood screens are complimentary to each other and don’t analyze for the same substances

That's right. The substance he tested positive for isn't even tested in blood tests. There was no way his blood test was going to test positive for turinabol, because they just don't test blood for turinabol. Jon's B-sample will tell us the full story. If it tests positive for turinabol that's when we'll know for sure, if not Jones will be innocent.

If the urine doesn't get you, the blood will typically. Such a strange set of events. I suppose the urine fail would suggest that he ingested it near the fight.
