Twenty-four hour short story contest for March 6. Topic 7--A werewolf that turns human during a full moon. The curse

Andrew Norton, was born in Scotland 28 years ago, in the year 1800. He lived on his family's farm, until the curse for which they were condemned, all the sons of the Norton were fulfilled, that happened when he turned 14 years old age.

200 years ago, some gypsies came to the lands of Scotland, to bring their magic and juggling shows. For 2 weeks they entertained the town, but one night the mayor of the town and his sheriff, demanded that the gypsies, should pay their earnings, as payment of taxes, for allowing them to stay in the village without being disturbed.

The head of the Clan, Josef tried to reason with the mayor, but it was useless. The mayor ordered Josef arrested, until he delivered all the money the clan had won.

When the clan realized the arrest of their boss, they all went to the town jail, to demand that they release Josef. Mayor Norton was scared to see how the group of men and women of the gypsy clan, brandishing their weapons, in threatening capacity.

Mayor Norton ordered his sheriff to arm the men of the town, to defend the jail. Everything happened very fast, no one knew who started the fight, or who started firing, but when it was over, most of the gypsies, between women and men had died in the brawl. Seeing that everything went out of control, the mayor decided not to leave witnesses, and ordered his men to kill the gypsies who remained in the camp.

There were only women, old people and children when they arrived at the gypsy camp. The sheriff and his men did not care that they were defenseless, he killed them all and burned the camp.

When the sheriff returned to town, he informed the mayor that all the gypsies were dead, and that no one would ever know what really happened. For the world the gypsies attacked them and they only defended themselves.

After the atrocious crime, the mayor thought that everything would be forgotten, but there was a survivor, a woman named Clarisa, was the clairvoyant of the clan. She had left the camp, for another town, to which they had gone before, to attend a delivery.

When Clarisa arrived, the fire of the gypsy camp was dying out. She ran to see if there were any survivors left, but what she found would horrify her for the rest of her life, her children burned in their cribs hugging each other. Her dead husband, and all her family massacred.

She fainted in pain, and upon awakening she began to bury her loved ones. She thought she was alone until she saw a boy from the village watching her from the bushes. The boy realized that he had been discovered, made to run through the woods. Clarisa pursued him until she reached him, and implored him to tell her what had happened in the camp.

The boy looked at her and told her everything, Clarisa after hearing the boy, swore revenge on the mayor, the sheriff and his men. They would pay with their blood what they did to the clan. Clarisa left the town that day, and made the boy promise that he would never tell anyone that he had seen her and that there was still a member of the clan alive.

So the years went by, to be exact 10 years. The mayor and his men thought they were free of their crimes, until one day a gypsy woman appeared in the town.

She called herself Ana Romanov, arrived to present a spectacle of divination and magic. Nobody recognized her, she took advantage of her anonymity to gain the trust of her victims. One by one, the men involved in the massacre of the gypsies were dying, their deaths were cruel and violent. The people were frightened, terrified, by the wild animal that was attacking its most prominent citizens in broad daylight.

They thought it was a Bear by the claws or a Wolf, but a wild animal so close to the village was hard to think. In the town a group of men was assembled who would go out to hunt the animal that was attacking the men. For days the hunters saw that their actions were unfruitful to catch the animal, the tracks disappeared from nowhere.

The attacks continued, many in the village during the day were locked in their homes for fear of being attacked. One day the desperate and frightened mayor had Ana call the fortune-teller, to read her letters, and tell her if she could locate the beast that was attacking and terrorizing the town.

When Ana arrived to meet with Mayor Norton, she asked him to be alone, to get a better reading of the letters. Once in the mayor's office, Ana began the tarot reading.

Ana told them: "The beast that you are looking for lives in your house, and with your family. You awoke the worst demons on earth, committed a heinous crime, to kill innocents. Now divine justice invokes, as payment the blood of their children, and the children of their children. They will wander through the earth like animals in the day and at night like men, they will see the atrocities of their crimes, their punishment will be to suffer on earth, wishing death ... ".

The mayor got up from his scared chair, demanding that he tell him what he was talking about, he had not committed any crime. Ana told him: "I'm Clarisa, you and your men killed my family, and my clan. For years I planned the perfect punishment for his atrocities, I traveled the world, to find the dark magic, which would make him pay for his crimes for generations. The beast he seeks is his son, the animal that hunts, that Wolf that has killed, to quench his thirst for blood, is his beloved son Jonas. "

The mayor did not believe what Clarisa was saying, he called her a witch. Clarisa with a smile of satisfaction on her lips said: "I cursed you for the rest of your days to suffer and die in life, your children and the children of your children, never find peace ...". Then he left the town.

The mayor fell into his chair exhausted, and scared. Days later he found that what Clarisa told him was true, like the cowardly man he was, he did not dare to tell the truth. The deaths continued in the town, during some time, until the Wolf was assassinated, by the hunters. When the Wolf fired at the forest, when they followed the trail of blood, what they found was the body of Jonas naked, dead. They thought that Jonas had been another victim of the Wolf. Only the mayor knew the truth.

A few weeks later Mayor Norton was found dead in his office.

200 years have passed, and what remains of the Norton family is the old farm, in the care of the Norton women. The Norton men, only seen at dusk, during the day in the vicinity of the forest, have seen three Wolves, hunting deer. But these Wolves no longer approach the town, nor attack its inhabitants, they know that if they approach they will be hunted down and annihilated.

Andrew Norton is the youngest generation, in every generation, the line that divides the wild Wolf man, from the human being is more tenuous. Andrew learned to control his animal impulses to attack the human. But like his father and grandfather, he will never have a normal life.

Andrew does not aspire wife, he does not want children to condemn them to the life of a wild animal he leads, the world changes quickly and every day civilization destroys the forests, soon there will be no hiding place, and the world to know the monster that is Andrew, will kill. Andrew knows it, and he prepares for that day ...
