Santa's workshop - Twenty-four hour short story

This my entry for @mctiller’s The 24-hour short story challenge

The old man observed a tiny elf sitting on the stairs, absorbed in his thoughts. With a worried expression and crossed arms on his knees.

He decided to sit beside him and asked:

"What's up, buddy?"

Without leaving his position, looking at the floor, he responded

"I'm definitely not good at any workshop's job"

"Do you want to tell me what happened to you?"

He took a deep breath and began to tell:

"Today was my first day at work, and it has been a disaster.

First, they assigned me to the toy assembly line. I had to put the arms to the dolls, but I got distracted in one with its eyes closed. So I tried to fix it quickly before the next one arrived, but the sleeves of my sweater became entangled in the mechanical band and the other dolls began to accumulate and without realizing I had more than 100 dolls over me, so the alarm sounded and the process was stopped for more than two hours, to get me out of that mess.

Then, I was assigned to a slower line, that of electronic games. All I had to do was load the software in the consoles. But the work became so monotonous that I got distracted for a second, when a little cat came in, looking for food, then when I got back to work I forgot to set up the languages. So more than 1000 consoles ended up in Arabic. So again the process stopped to determine which consoles were in the wrong language.

And again, they moved me.

This time they put me to clean and polish the floor. I got excited about the new 2018 polisher, quite powerful. So I went into action and toured the place riding polish the floor until it was like a mirror. When I finally finished, it was so slippery that the wheelbarrows that ran down the aisle lost control and collided and all the gift boxes fell off.

Everyone got mad at me!

The supervisor, mad at me, assigned me to the store, away from all, to inventory the finished gifts and assign them to the belt of each corresponding country. Everything went great until a box arrived without a certain destination, I left it aside because this time I wouldn't leave my place. But then another and one more arrived. So I quickly decided to look for the supervisor to report on the problem.

But to my disgrace, the gifts accumulated while I was absent. Many fell in different belts and ended up in the warehouses of the wrong countries.

So I ended up here, waiting for the boss to come and fired me. "

The old man meditating on what the little elf had said, answered

"Of course he won't fire you, I assure you that he will find you the best place to work"

Finally, the little elf raised his head surprised by the response, especially when he realized to whom had told his story.

The old man gave him a pat on the back and left

"Come back tomorrow and you'll see, don’t forget to take the hot chocolate cup that I left you."

The little elf drew a big smile, drying his tears.

The next day, the supervisor assigned him the best job in the world.

"Now you will be the head of the quality control department. Your job will be to verify throughout the process that the toys meet all the requirements. You will have the team of elves you need to achieve it. In addition, you will be in charge of testing those experimental toys and verify that they are consistent with the corresponding ages. "

"Yes, sir!" He replied with a big smile.

"The boss has liked you very well," the supervisor said before leaving.

Hi @jadams2k18

I just replied to your comment in my recent post related to 1200 SP. Please go and check it out :)

Thank you one more time for reaching out to me. Hope you will enjoy my little support and delegation of 40 SP.

ps
My efforts has been supported by few people and I would like to ask you to give me small favour. What favour is that? Nothing big really. Just open link below and add it to your favourites (if you don't mind).
http://steemit.com/@piotr.delegators/feed

You may wonder what the heck is that? I created this account to follow those few people who delegated Steem Power to me in the first place. Without them I would not be able to support you.

Since they are all passionate about crypto, I decided to help them get new followers and bring more engagement to their posts. So this link is nothing else but newsfeed from their accounts.

I would love to ask you if you could start building your engagement on Steemit from visiting this page and showing your support to them. Anytime you can. Just drop an upvote and some valuable comment. Those guys are really worth our time and attention (plus they are all very responsive).

Every few weeks I will be monitoring who is engaging with them most and personally I will give those people my extra attention. That's my idea. I will do my best to reward those, who are supporting those few delegators.

So it's a win-win situation for everyone. You can get some delegation and support, they will get more traffic and I'm building my influence (since I'm right in the middle of all of it).

How does it sound? :) Hope I can count on you.

Have a great day ahead,
cheers
Piotr
