A ten-year-old boy in the year 2023 - Most time of the day Eratus sat on the floor with his eyes closed. The ceiling was covered with a kind of screen made of intelligent, organic material. Merciless reflections of him all over the room, at the walls, the floor, the ceiling. For a moment he looked up. Two small, bright blue dots suddenly appeared above him. His aquamarine blue eyes were reflected highly intensive. They stood out clearly from the surroundings in the area above his head. Like a glow of hope for salvation, the two spots shone in the blurred something on the intelligent reflectors. Nothing around him but these unbearable reflections of his image.

Three hours ago, they came to check on him. The hidden door in the wall-like, living screens opened and a lifeless figure in purple robes pushed food into his prison cell. Only in these short moments could he perceive the indefinable something around him as space, as a room. Eratus loved those short moments. Those pauses where he knew where he was. Where his body was locked up. His body, but not his spirit. These short periods, he felt being taken care of in a way. These moments he was aware there is somebody. Somebody behind all these screens that formed a something. A blurred mix of reflections of his appearance.

„I'm not good enough. The Purple Ones will notice it. I need to control myself better. If I can simultaneously control my body here in this room during my escape, they won't notice it. They will not see that I am no longer here. Then I can finally go on the search. The search for my parents. I have to, I have to, I have to have … control“ he thought.

Over time, however, Eratus had a clear understanding of the evil play of the Purple Ones. They had first tried to bind him to them with false, played love. Nevertheless, there was still a remnant of this connection with them present. Like the threads of a spider's web, they had tried to tie him up. Now that he was increasingly aware of it, he could forge plans.

Very early in his life, he learned the technique of how to leave his physical body and travel to whatever place in the universe. He was thankful that his parents gave him all these training lessons. All these very special lessons. An anchor of hope and a relief in this situation. This ability to detach oneself from the material body was withheld from the Purples. The Purple Ones did not know about all that. Eratus wasn’t allowed to tell anybody about this secret. This his father made very clear.

Eratus barely could recall the time before he traveled to the dark side of the moon. The Initiates called his parents the Sublimes and they showed their respect wherever he followed his family.

When they suddenly and unexpectedly got the order to gather to leave the planet, everything went very quickly. All Sublimes were so full of hope and the departure into a new, a better time became noticeable. They were brought to the jump room by the Initiates. The exceptional genetic structure of the Sublimes was the key, the entrance ticket to the room. Through the gate, in the jump room, Eratus and his parents disappeared to reappear at the Sublimes’s Base at the dark side of the moon. Unfortunately, the base was already under the complete control of the Purples. He and his parents were separated and captured.

He could hardly remember the time he was captured. And the time before that, on earth, was all the more gone. At that time he was still too small. All he remembered was that the earth was controlled by the Purple's and people were enslaved. The freedom of free speech was first suppressed, then banned and made punishable. All he knew was, that they have been told that the base at the dark side of the moon is the last hope to survive. Survive and form a new civilization. A society in which justice is at home, in which a loving spiritual development would be possible.

Finally, yes, finally, Eratus had managed to keep his physical body so well under his very own mind control that his reflection did not flutter anymore when he left his body. This way he could, at last, prevent the interventions. These intelligent screens in his cell had sounded the alarm every time he tried before. His consciousness formed the images he had known since his earliest childhood. The clearly perceptible outlines of Xaraq, the safe haven of the Sublimes.

As the very last possibility and in great need the Sublimes had created this place. A place that seemed to have fallen out of time. A place which could only be reached by the Sublimes with their extraordinary abilities and under huge mental effort.

Xaraq was simply beautiful. Exotic plants, extraordinary birds, waterfalls and green meadows. This place was created by all Sublimes together. Created from their most common, beautiful and loving memories. Those who walked through the protective walls of Xaraq could not go back. Left their physical body finally with no chance to return. Not an easy step, not even for a Sublime. Their body was probably the most important tool in order to be able to achieve everything, that was so important at this time. Giving up their body meant giving up their goals. Goals for peace on earth.

As Eratus passed through the mighty gates to Xaraq, he immediately noticed that someone he loved very much was nearby. Not just anyone. He felt very clearly the presence of his father and mother. With the help of his trained intuition, it didn't take him long to find his parents. Many Sublimes had given up the fight for a better future in favor of love. Xaraq was full of life and love.

The Sublimes were not aware of this solution before. They did not want to betray their important goals. They did not want to let people down. They had devoted themselves so much and with all their passion to the fight, that they had almost forgotten about love.

One thing was now crystal clear to everyone, sometimes you have to leave a lot behind to be able to go into the future, full of love.

Definitely true. Great story @anutu. Eratus is an interesting young man. Resilent and determined despite being trapped. I love your interpretation of the prompt, made reading it interesting.

Thank you so much for dropping by and reading my story @cheekah. I appreciate your kindness and your words a lot. While I was writing it, I loved the prompt so much, that I started with a second chapter and I think I will continue his story soon <3

Funny how we both saw the boy with those sterling blue eyes.

Wow, really, I have to read yours! I just returned home and jumped right away at my computer ... have to catch up ... so cool you told me!!!

Thank you right from my heart @enginewitty, I was so much questioning my work the last days, fighting with myself, I am usually not like that ... well, somehow maybe I needed this ambivalence to see clearer now ..

What an awesome story @anutu - and massive congratulations on your Curie vote- so well deserved, I'm so so thrilled for you.

This story is gorgeous, your words and images are so powerful it was like watching it play out as a film in my mind's-eye. It has that bitter-sweet edge to it though, that feeling of trapped, but free at the same time. Really thought provoking! E x

Thank you right from my heart, you know how much you and your opinion mean to me @eveningart. I love stories that play around with the ambivalence of feelings and pictures connected with. Eratus was the perfect option to start experimenting with this idea.

Very early in his life, he learned the technique of how to leave his physical body and travel to whatever place in the universe. He was thankful that his parents gave him all these training lessons. Awesome! I always dreamed of doing that. Catholic mystics called it bilocation. Nope, I've never had an out of body experience, but it sounds like something everyone should get to try at least once! Your protagonist has a unique need for this gift. :) Well done!

Thank you so much for your kind words @carolkean! When I had my first out of body experience I had no idea what's happening. I was very young and truly scared. Much later I researched it and learned not to be afraid anymore. I never provoke it, although I think this might be possible, just try always to go with the flow.

Thank you so much for your information, I did not know there are Catholic writings on this phenomenon, so good to know!

So happy you dropped by and told me!
xx

Wow, how awesome that you've experienced this before! The Jewish Kaballah also mentions bilocation, and Anthony Royer's massive book about mystic phenomena. What does science have to say about it? I kinda don't wanna know. I want to believe it happens for real, not due to some chemical imbalance in the brain. I would be concerned (if it happened to me) about making it "home safe" to one's own body again. And what if two people could swap....? Say there was a car wreck, and two people left their bodies at the same time, and there's no thin silver thread (as Shirley McClaine described it) tethering the soul to the body?

The idea of leaving the body and appearing somewhere else unnoticed seems more like magic, though sometimes our thoughts does the trick.

Just like Eratus , sometimes we need understand and have clear message of who we are to be able to explore the things surrounding us. It's a fiction with lot of lessons

Thank you so much for your wonderful words and thoughts @shemzy! I appreciate your comment a lot. So true,

I think it takes a lot of challenges in life to find out more, step by step, who we really are, observing and exploring what surrounds us helps a lot I think.
