Clayton Daly’s Magnum Opus - Submission for the Art Prompt Writing Contest #11
Clayton Daly’s Magnum Opus
By T. Dalton
Detroit: A Dead City
Clayton Daly convinced himself he was a genius. He never convinced me. I met him in an undergraduate Film History course. I first found him obnoxious when he couldn’t stay quiet for five minutes. His hand shot up whenever the teacher posed a question. Eager, desperate, he’d answer then take the opportunity to rant on his own infantile ideas. I remember his nose, a slightly crooked beak. And his remarkable scoff, erupting before his failed attempt to dismiss someone else’s ideas.
