I can't find the "Morty putting" scene in any of the episodes

in #tv2 years ago

Rick and Morty is one of my favorite TV shows ever made. I've seen every single episode at least 3 times and the earlier seasons I have probably seen every episode dozens of times. It's hard for me to believe that when this show was first released and everyone was talking about it, I watched it, didn't like the pilot episode, and didn't watch it again for years. It is now something I return to on a regular basis and even though I have seen all episodes multiple times I still laugh. The characters are just perfect in my mind.

The intro sequences change as time goes by and many of the things that happen while the intro music is playing are from past episodes and at least in season 5 I have noticed that some of the things that happen in the montage haven't happened yet but are foreshadowing of future episodes.

There is one thing that is in as far as I can tell, all of them though... and that is the scene at the end that seems out of place where Morty is sinking a putt with a bunch of onlookers.

This has bothered me for a while now because I can't find any episode, despite having seen all of them many times, where this scene happens. I don't even know of a scene where Morty has anything to do with golf at all. It is also very difficult to find any information about this online because there is an episode where the Meeseeks are trying to help Jerry get better at golf so any websearch about finding where the putting scene is from gets hijacked by that episode.

While this is a great episode at no point in time during it is Morty even with Jerry, let alone playing golf, so it isn't from this one. The show's creators have in the past put animations that are not actually in the episodes at all in the opening credits so I am thinking that this is one of those unless I somehow missed an entire episode somewhere. What makes this so special is the fact that it is very different from the other things that have been used in the intro credits: There are no aliens, no tech, nothing crazy happens, it's just a normal thing to be sinking a putt and is very different from how Morty actually is since he is a nervous teen who doesn't like to be in front of others.

I can find no information as to where this scene is from and what little I can find is just fan speculation about how this is something that hasn't happened yet, but will happen as one of the Morty's rises to power at the end of Season 5. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I of course could be wrong about this because I have fallen asleep while watching in the past and a full month later returned to re-watch a season only to discover there was an entire episode that I had never seen before. Therefore, if you know where this scene is actually from, I'd appreciate a heads up because it is driving me loco!

Just what I'm looking for? Is this really the perfect show for Adult Swim?! My god it is! I love this show. I love all the missions and adventures that Rick and Morty go on into space and to other planets. It's so cool watching them nearly get killed by things government officials, aliens, parasites, and even themselves! This really makes the viewer(s) feel the tension and struggle of the characters. I love how every episode has its own unique and funny idea like the alien parasites in season 2, Pickle Rick in season 3, or the Party that's literally out of this world at the end of the first season. I love how there are multiple versions of Rick and his universe that constantly get confused and agitated with each other since they don't know exactly who everyone is. I also thought it was cool how Rick keeps training Morty to be an adventurist that constantly concerns and pisses off Jerry and Beth. It's a lot of fun watching Rick train his whole family to be just like him, and it doesn't work out in the end the family ends up splitting for an unknown period of time. I really like this show, and sure do hope that it ends before fatigue ruins it like it did to Family Guy or the Simpsons. In the meantime, we might as well enjoy it while it's good.

Well Rick and Morty isn't for everyone. It seems to be a "love it or hate it" type of thing for most people. I have found that the people I know who love this show tend to be the people that I see "eye to eye" with the most in real life so I guess we are all cut from the same sense of humor show.

If you do give it a try do yourself a favor and skip the pilot episode of season 1 episode 1. It is one of the worst episodes of the entire 5 seasons IMO and it was the reason why I initially ignored this show for many years.
