Some brief reviews.

Indiana Jones 5: It was OK. Not as bad as some reviews claim, but not especially good either. If you're a longtime Indiana Jones fan (as I sort of am), you will want to see it. Otherwise, you can safely skip it. Also, Nazi remnants circa 1969 just don't feel like a plausible foe in the way they do when the movie is set during or right before WWII.

Outlander, Season 7, episodes 1-3: Series seems to be jumping the shark, as there just isn't much character development left to do, and they're not making good use of the setting of the American Revolution (unlike earlier seasons, which did make good use of other historical events). The show may be deterioriating like the finals 2 seasons of Game of Thrones did. Here, however, they lack the excuse of outrunning the source material. Diana Gabaldon's books go beyond this time period in the story and are already in print.

Strange New Worlds, Season 2, Episodes 1-3: Still good, and still fun to watch, but noticeably weaker than Season 1. In fairness, episode 2 is an episode with a trial (Star Trek often has trouble with those), and episode 3 is a time travel episode (ditto). In episode 1, Spock (temporarily in command of the ship for the first time), faces an interesting conflict between the demands of Vulcan logic and the demands of obedience to Star Fleet orders. But it's hard for me to believe the character defies orders to the extent that actually happens. This season also features the issue of the morality genetic engineering, which has been reprised on Star Trek many times before. The franchise has moved from a strong anti-engineering stance to being much more sympathetic (which is closer to my view). Unlike most political issues featured on ST, this one cuts across standard left-right ideological lines.
