Star Trek light years ahead!
Has anyone noticed yet that Star Trek: The Next Generation was light-years ahead in the representation of minorities?
Two black guys, one of whom is blind and the other with facial disfigurements; a schizophrenic woman who believes to have telepathic abilities; an albino with autism; a single mother and her nerdy mama's boy; a hipster who doesn't mind being in a relationship with someone who is mentally ill; and a black woman wearing a hijab, all of whom are led by a pacifist Frenchman.
As a massive Star Trek fan, particularly The Next Generation, I am particularly looking forward to what the next mini series (Star Trek : Picard) will bring in late 2019.
