Sync to Music Beats - How to - Tutorial - Drone Video

When I first saw a similar edit I was mind blown! It was a professional scene from a marketing company, and since, I have created a dozen edits and think I got the hang of it.

You will have to watch your video a couple times and listen to a couple songs before you can decide and make the right choice. The same applies to when you chose the cuts or jumps to happen, to the drop of a beat or something else like I did in my video.

The following is a general list with steps to follow, in case you find it difficult to understand from the video:

• You will need Adobe Premiere Pro to start with (the principle is the same though, so you are able to do this in most video editing softwares)
• Import your desired video
• Cut up your video to show only the interesting parts
• Choose a fairly short song that has distinguishing pinch points
• After you import your song expand the Audio layer so you can assess the music peaks and troughs
• Add markers (you can do this by holding your cursor at the desired point and press M) where the bass drops
• Use the cut tool to slice from the clip to create the desired effect
• Replay and adjust until you get a well synchronised video to your music
• Export and ENJOY!

A couple things I noticed and was also brought to my attention by others, when I finished and uploaded the video:

• You can barely hear my voice (next time I will have a microphone closer to my mouth)
• Could've included the edit at the end of the vide (though it might've been too long all together)
• I referred a couple times to sounds as noise (don't ask me why)
