Newbie Gif Show Steemclass #2: Writing Your First Post

in #tutorial8 years ago

Many newbies jump unto steemit with great anticipation of hitting the trending sections with their first post. Most of them even neglect reading the faq. They jump in solo blind and start writing hoping for a miracle to happen. They come in writing without a game plan. Everybody is a writer but every good writer is also a reader. So before you start going about writing, i will urge you to take your time and read this article.

MUST DO AFTER REGISTRATION

  1. Read the FAQ page at FAQ
  2. Read good introductory Post and Introduce yourself.

READ THE FAQ

For every good system, there are rules and regulations. How do you expect to use a powerful tool like steemit to optimum without knowing all the tools and tricks it has up on the sleeve? When you buy a new car, you are given a manual on how the car should operates. Refuse to read the manual and you will use the car in a way it shouldn't be used. The end result is that the car will breakdown prematurely. Many newbies jump unto this platform follow begging and spamming comments/tags simply because they refused to read the FAQ. I think its high time that all promoters direct newbies to the FAQ after registering. Trust me, steemit is very sophisticated and you will need to read the FAQ before you can use it optimumly.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

Reading the FAQ can be overwhelming. Dont get overwhelmed. Everybody started with almost the same amount of knowledge. Thus reading the FAQ and writing their introduction. Writing an introduction can be quite confusing thats why i recommend you read sample introductory posts that are trending. These posts can be found by visiting this link.Thats the way you will know exactly what you would want others to know about you on the platform. Sharing your introduction isnt compulsory but i will advice you to share. "Know body cares about your writings till they see you in it". Make a grand entry with your introduction. I will recommend using a well drafted guide written by @teamsteem. The link to his article

It is a step by step guide on how to write an introductory post.

One thing that has been clear to me on steemit is that, people don't care about your writing until you care enough to read and communicate. Remember, if you don't care to read someones article, nobody will care to read yours. Karma So do well and read the articles. Relate with people and have fun.

I have been posting things on Steemit since July 2017. I was thinking about re-introducing myself properly now that I know how things work. My most valuable post is $8.25. I think it takes a while to build an audience and to gain followers.

You know it best. Its after you know how difficult it is to build a good following that you realised you could have done things differently. I myself am a victim that's why i am trying my best to make new users know the ins and out of steemit. You cant afford to mess up with your first Post as its a great determiner for your rate of success on steemit.

I heard that you should make another comment on your comment on the sixth day. Is it true that is helping?

interesting post. hoping to help new users.

Thats great. Its a good perspective to help new users. Steemit Can be rough for a minnow
