Because president's don't unilaterally make deals with anyone without a treaty that is approved by Congress. It was simply an Executive Order by Obama to enact legislation because Congress voted against it. Trump took out the EO and now they can negotiate legislation to be approved by our representatives in Congress.
Agreed, but there is another major point as of to why he backed out of the agreement, that has nothing to do with the Don at all. Well maybe a bit. "The Money Labowski!" Iran just weeks earlier dropped the US $ in trade with china (Petro Dollar)... Interestingly enough a little trend that happened with Syria, Libya, Sudan, Iraq... am I missing any? Oh Afghanistan. They had our drugs (opium, which since we invaded has increased production astronomically) though, not our money. Kinda the same thing though over here right?
