🌊 Coherance: We Are all In It Together 🌊

in #tribesteemup6 years ago

@tribesteemup's bi-weekly question is:

"What does coherance mean to you?"

If you havent heard of @kennyskitchen's community abundance generator, check it out under the #tribesteemup hashtag. The tribe writes on all sorts of topics from permaculture to healing, anarchy to veganism, crypto to tarot... there's something there for everyone and its a great effort to create abundance for Steemfolk.

A kind of coherance in itself, if you'd like, as coherance is, on a very basic level:

"A state or situation in which all the parts or ideas fit together well so that they form a united whole"

My love is a physicist. He sits across the table at a crowded Balinese restaurant from me and explains coherance in physics where light or sound waves have the same peaks and troughs - everything lining up. Like light through the same prism. I'm not sure I understand the maths of it, but I ike the description of what it isn't a. bit better. I like what it isn't - say everyone in this restaurant, he says - all the talking, the noise - it's all different soundwaves. IT's discordant, fractured. Waves crossing over each other. No two the same.

SOURCE

We are metres from the sea. Fisherman walk in smiling with huge tuna from the day's catch, catching just what is needed with great respect for the sea that sustains them. Candleight flickers. Traditional music clangs along with the sounds of the kitchen. I hear Frenchman, Germans, Russian. Australians.

Everyone is in their own bubble - not neccessarily here in the restaurant where mostly we're sharing the same experence - all here to dive, to enjoy the ocean - but out in our other lives. We scream and shout about what the world SHOULD be.. all versions of our own separate subjevtive ideals.

If we're all talking over the top of one another we're not really listening, each of us only hearing our own echo. We are so often tightly holding onto our own hard fought for identities, thinking it's who we really are and forgetting our true shared nature - we all want the same thing. We all love, we call carry wounds. It's the human condition. Yet we look at our fellow human beings and think that they are other*. We don't really look. We have our labels and definitions of who 'they are' - bloody Trump supporter. Socialist. White supremacist. Hippie stoner. Leftie greenie scum. Too old, too young too uneducated, too educated. Too black. Too white. Too scary. Too weak. Too male, female, old, scarred, ignorant, rich. Too .... other than.

All these dischordant sound waves of me-ness, I-ness, ego-ness - and we're all driven by the same need to be loved, to be love, to be safe, to be free. Strip away all the layers of our conditioning and we are all the same human beings. If we could see that, there would be more cohesion and less nonsense. Less fear. More shared purpose to help each other out rather than resist or fight.

SOURCE

We forget we are part of a unified whole.

We forget we are part of nature.

We forget we are all just on this mortal coil together, just like animals, birds, the earth - each atom, each sound waves light wave, chemical processes - there's nothing that really separates us except our own thinking.

SOURCE

If we could tap into these connections, really listen, to our own true selves, each other, and us as part of the natural world rather than its conquerers, tamers, oppressors -maybe there would be less noise and more sense. More coherance.

Maybe we could look at each other and really truly see each other for what we really are.

@truck-lifefamily said it beautifully in her response:

We share a connection with all living things, we share and exchange energy and when we tune in to that we feel that connection, we have an understanding and a deep respect for ourselves an our natural environment. For we are nature, we are made of this earth and to it we will return.

Some of you won't like this because Kimi Werner is a spearfisherman, but please do listen to what she has to say. It's quite extraordinary how she truly sees this creature we have all been conditioned to feel great fear for.

This moment between woman and shark is coherance - a beautiful connection amongst the noise.

There's no fear. No stories of what she should expect from this magnificent creature - in that moment, there was no real difference between woman and beast. Werner's ethos in this way connects to some of @tribesteemup's 8 pillars, particularly the fifth:

"FIFTH, the Earth is not a resource to be exploited, it is a living system, of which we are all pieces, and we must learn to live in harmony & balance with the rest of the system;"

Harmony and balance with the rest of the system we are all in is key. Enough of the discordancy. We are all swimming in the same sea. All riding the same waves of life.

A bit of coherance would be nice, don't you think?

If you have picked up on the sea theme, it's because I have been enthralled by this coastal Balinese town all week. Sadly leaving in a day or so - but the ocean theme might continue for a little while yet!

You got it. If we just focus on the things we all agree on and value, the little bitty itty differences we have aren't so important and we would all be a coherent community.

Thanks for yiur comment. I was beginning to wonder if anyone had read it or if it was so incoherant people didnt want to!

I think reminding ourselves that we are all the same helps us be more compassionate too.

💛💛💛😙

this is great @riverflows, so many walk around disconnected, screaming out for something that they already have inside yet have forgotten how to see and feel it, too much looking outwards instead of inwards xxx enjoy the sea xx

Thankyou. It's sad too... if we felt more connected there would be less depression too! Sometimes I think that is a bonus of the internet.

How happy he is, Kio lives by the sea! I only went to the sea once. Even I do not know how to swim, you can imagine? It's funny, but I still have not learned to swim. I will subscribe, in the hope of reciprocity).
