Thanks to www.wwoofusa.org we had the opportunity to live, volunteer and explore at Red Moon Gardens in Moab, Utah. Our time here was full of learning, adventure and good times. The farm owner, Geroge, is an incredible human with a warm heart. We are grateful for this experience and excited to continue the journey!

what an interesting project @nilesackerman, wonder what you're doing with the tomatoes and looks like both of you really good on raking .. LOL. what was the hot bath for?

Hi @cicisaja yes we had lots of fun. We set the tomatoes aside to ripen and when they're ready they will be sold to a local grocery store. The hot tub will be filled with salt water to relax in!

We're glad you enjoyed our video, thanks for watching :)

Thank you for the reply @nilesackerman 😉 so di you go to any farm in USA to do this project and learned something from them too? Is it only farms ?

@cicisaja Using wwoofusa.org is meant only for organic farms, but there are other online platforms like workaway, where you can volunteer to help people do anything! like babysitting, cooking and all that. We choose wwoof because we want to learn the skills needed to run our on plot of land sometime in the future. But yes wwoof give you access to farms across the usa, but theres also a wwoof international website which gives you access to farms all across the world!

Looks like you have a thing for nature and farm produce but the yoga part got more.
Nice music and I love the simple video that's just about what you like.

Hello @peachyladiva yes, we enjoy nature and yoga and a place that brings those two together is a jackpot in our eyes! We're making a bunch more videos as we continue to road trip and travel. Thanks for watching :))

That looks like a great garden and country living experience. It is sweet to think that there is the yoga barn and the medicine field for meditation.

I noticed that the cherry tomatoes were in the same green house with the big ones but the small ones did not have any problem. The skin looks smooth unlike the big ones. I wonder if you got the chance to ask George about why is that?

Is it your first time to volunteer in a place like this? How did it feel after you completed your projects?

Hi @macoolette. This farm was quite a gem! We've been traveling and volunteering on farms for about a year now so it definitely wasn't our first run. Completing projects is such a rewarding experience :)

& as far as the tomatoes go, we're not exactly sure why the cherry tomatoes were healthier. We're thinking maybe it's because they weren't as dense as the big ones? The way they grew were more spaced apart than the big ones, so that might be one factor affecting their health.

Thanks for watching our video. If you want to continue following our journey, check us out on youtube!

Fruit fly infests our tomatoes more than fungal and viral diseases. But I have noticed that the small cherry tomatoes are always stronger and seem to have much more resistance.

Loved watching your videos ~ Would be amazing to have the Yoga Barn to yourselves ~ And I can imagine you could feel the energy of all the people who have been working at and contributing to the well being of the farm. Happy travels. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Do you use anything specific to get rid of or deter the fruit fly insects on your tomatoes? We were on another farm before this one and they were experimenting with using nematodes to get rid of a little black fly/beetle (can't remember the name).

& Yes! The energy on the farm was clean and clear and always moving upward and onward. It really was a little slice of heaven :)

Thanks for watching @allyinspirit! <3

Wow, that's very good of you to keep volunteering! It must be indeed a very good feeling to be sharing what you got, not money or material possessions but time, love and effort.

Well, so far I have never seen cherry tomatoes that were infected by anything like those of the big ones. But yes, I am also not sure why it is like that. I just thought George have shared something about it.

I am sure there are many other ways to do volunteering but why specifically in farms do you volunteer, by the way? Anything special about that?

@macoolette We specifically choose to volunteer on farms because we want to learn all the different methods and modalities that there are to growing food. It's also cool because we learn how to live with community and open our hearts even more! Many of these farms create ways to self sustain themselves financially so in that aspect, we are also learning. It's our dream to buy a piece of land and create homes and a garden on it as well as welcome others we've met amongst our travels to come and create with us. Something like the Red moon with meditation and yoga available, but with our own twist of course ;)

Many of these farms create ways to self sustain themselves financially

That is why I salute farmers. They only not self-sustain but they bring food on our table. Their role is actually something with my best regards in terms of job and passion.

You have a very good plan of doing the same thing welcoming others as people did to you. What a kind heart! Good luck on that and may you indeed build your lovely farm soon. 😊

Nice video that gave us the opportunity to join your daily routine, you took us back to summer, that is a great feeling to experience again warm sun and being outside. Like the mountainous area that we could see during your drive, vast nature, without civilization, but it is great to see that solar energy is used there too, that is something that nature gives us for free so clean energy. Like the tomatoes green house, I believe because of growing without any conservative and pesticide they are so sensible and get bad quickly, but they must be very delicious too. Like your Yoga place, on fresh air. You made me very jealous and wanting to go there too :)

Hey @stef1 it makes us so happy to hear that you got to relive the warm season through watching our video! Moab is a magical place with tons of nature trails to explore. The farm has only been there for 6 years and is doing quite great in my opinion with their solar, garden, greenhouse and yoga barn. It's a little slice of paradise :) We made another short video of our time in Moab which you can watch here

We hope you enjoy it and thank you for watching and engaging with us on our creations :)

Amazing seeing that I have a feeling you are on other planet or somewhere very far away. Great canyon with its red rocks reminds me Petra ancient city rocks. Love the bikes, especially store store bikes, looks really scary to ride. Thank you for sharing it :)

@stef1 yes we agree! Moab feels like your on another planet with it's huge landscapes and red rocks! We loved it. We don't know where Petra ancient city rocks is, but we will look it up it sounds cool! & yes those big bikes were a bit scary, they were so tall we needed to use a huge block to hop onto it! and I needed help to get off hahaha.
Thanks for the feedback, Blessings to you! <3

You sure the flower eatable @nilesackerman :p So harvesting and selling tomatoes was one of your project? I always dream to stay in a farm, to grow own vegetables. You seems found a germ in this journey, able to enjoy the fresh air and close to the nature. I love the cute puppy as well. How long have you stay in that garden?

Hi @oliviackl
Yes the flowers are edible and sweet to taste! We didn't sell the tomatoes, just harvested them. George will sell them to the local market when they're ripe enough.

And yes Moab was quite a gem! If you want to experience what it's like to work on a farm we recommend doing www.wwoofusa.org and finding a farm on there! If your not in the United States, it also shows you farms from all over the world! We stayed on Red Moon for a little over a week. It was one of our shorter stays, but we loved every moment of it!

Thanks you for watching & blessings to you :)

wow @nilesackerman thank you for the link. I just visited the link and first time i get to know such web site available. You mean you have a longer stay in other farm? The longest was how many days? You are amazing.

Howdy there nilesackerman! hey you guys did alot of work out there! But it looked like fun and in a wonderful setting and you helped the farm alot so good job! Where are you going next?
Oh, congratulations on the curie!
