When Things Fall Apart | An Original Didgeridoo Song (DTube Vid)

in #tribesteemup6 years ago (edited)

This month it has felt like a lot has broken, fell apart... many
physical things have met their end. Some of these things have
incredible memorable significance.

Just today we discovered a one-of-a-kind artistic instrument that we
got in Peru from the artist... broken... on the floor in a heap. We
think it was likely our dog that knocked it off the table.

The fact is that things fall apart. It's not IF they will, but
WHEN.... the Why Me...? Questioning doesn't benefit anyone, so we
move to the next step.

Mourning the loss, gratitude for the time spent... learning any
lessons present...

This summer has been a summer full of change and, actually, we have
experienced quite a bit of loss. The loss of certain friendships, ways
of being, existing realities...

Breaking the oil pan on our car twice in 2 weeks... teaching us to
slow down and be more deliberate with where we are traveling. The
breaking of a camera lens on one of Wren's cameras. This instrument,
the gorgeous uru, which Ini loved dearly.

We've also had life and new birth come into the fore. Kittens born!
New friendships and activities blossoming! The birth of a High Tunnel
and all of the possibilities that entails. The returning to
philosophies once studied to deepen the practice and commitment to
Radical Earth Care and Stewardship.

Life spirals around each of these sectors hitting on what is present
for the individual at any given time. When something falls apart,
another thing gains a new life... Possibility awakens in the space
between the death.... and something new. None of this requires effort.
It just is.

We give thanks for What Is and hone our vision to be stewards of our
earth lives.

All of this conveyed in the song of the didgeridoo.

if you have all the parts you should be able to fix you instrument I would recommend the Japanese Kintsugi technique.

this is the history of it which might interest you

And here how to do it :)

Also would you guys be interested in playing the Didgeridoo on the one project track ?

Interesting technique, although since there are quite a few shards and the instrument is hit quite hard I’m thinking about making it into a water fountain instead.

I would certainly be open to playing for this project. What would it entail from me?

Thanks for sharing.

join the discord group and then when we offer the base tracks chose one you like play on it and upload it to the cloud for downloading or make us your own base track for others to play with :D If you can film yourself recording it too :) This project will take a bit so we have time :)

Very cool. I dig this suggestion, whether or not it's possible to re-assemble the instrument.

Mmm, yeah, feeling the emotion in the didg track you've created here. Kickass post. Digging this cool tip from @tygertyger, and hoping you will document a re-assembled uru instrument, if possible, cracks and all.

Cracked. Chipped. Perfect.

I see these words as a tagline for a new day in the magical realm of @mountainjewel.

Nice to hear from you @cabelindsay! You're always such a blessing when you shows up, thanks for the support and caring. Alas the drum is destined for different things, perhaps a water fountain. It has a gorgeous rendering of wachuma which I would like to incorporate into healing fountain water alter. The drum is Simply too far gone to be assembled and receive the percussive blows.

Cracked. Chipped. Perfect. Indeed. Thanks for stopping by.

Yes, the same here, just day to day, not in a spate usually. (I probably just jinxed us....) The good and bad of living every day...

The loss sticks, but you just move on...

I often don’t remember all the things lost as much as the biggest joys and successes. Life never stops and all things always change.

one of the advantages (one of many) living close to the land and nature is experiencing life all around you. the cycle of plants. the births and deaths of pets, farm animals and wildlife. puts your own life in perspective. a part of the whole.

Well said. We often comment to each other about the fullness of life at Mountain Jewel. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.
