I agree, that is a great way to forget about negativity.

Great points you have made, @flauwy. I definitely agree that being able to carry a conversation that is interesting to the person inflicted is very helpful in bolstering their mood, and that delving on the topics which bring up the pain can be touchy and often unappreciated. I like how you mention that talking about these feelings can leave one hanging onto those feelings.

Another point I really appreciated was this:

Out of the darkness we all might sink into at some point in our life’s, can arise the most beautiful light. My own depression was kickstarting my awakening.

In Alchemy, diving into the darkness is the beginning of the process to allow the Spirits to engage with The Work.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts:)

Thank you for your comment. I would love to hear your opinion on all the 11 numerology, where I created this fascinating list of events, all leading towards November 11, 2018:

Instead, I think it makes more sense to shift the conversation towards interesting topics for the person. It is not easy to find the right topic but if it is a friend or family member then you probably have enough information about that person to find the right angle.

Yes sage advice there my friend, I think it's very important to keep a degree of normality ... so that the conversation and indeed the life isn't solely associated on the depression. In dualistic terms and like you allude to the dark is simply the opposing spectrum of the light and without the night would we fully appreciate the warmth of the rising sun? Indeed like you also allude to, the darkness is also the driving for behind awakening .. and we can kind of see that playing out on a macro scale all around us. Thanks for this post @flauwy
