Crypto Collectibles presents Cthulhu (again) for #TrialbyComics

A second entry for @kommienezuspadt's Trial by Comics with the theme being Lovecraft.  So if you seen the first entry here, it was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's original drawing of Cthulhu.   The inspiration for this drawing came about randomly while watching the movie Bird Box.   Without spoiling the movie, I will say there was a scene where drawings are laid out and one of them reminded me of Cthulhu.  Here is a frame of that scene and again, really no spoilers in this still image:

After finishing the flick that scene stuck around because it reminded me I have a charcoal pencil I never use but I always want to, and there is something about the kind of simple sketchy drawing that gave a darker scarier element than a crazy detailed drawing of a character like Cthulhu.  I  then remembered reading the description by Lovecraft from The Call of Cthulhu:

A monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind.

So going by that description plus alone is how this drawing happened.  The term mass of feelers stuck out in the words out of everything.   Process pics below.

I was always fascinated by Lovecraft. I should read one of his books. This is a great drawing.
