I came across an old folder with some snapshots I took of the trending pages here on Steemit back in 2017, do you remember those times? How many people have stuck around for the bad times and who has high tailed it as rewards and earnings have tanked.

It is pretty unbelievable. Unfortunately with STEEM you pretty much have to be liquid to get out fast enough. The spikes are so fast that most aren't able to take advantage of it.

I think quite a few people are deciding its not worth their time, although curation seems to be better now.
Even when some people were making $10 or $15 / post they were dropping out and feeling it wasn't work it because it is weird here. It would be interesting how much of the reward pool is actually going to those Burn Posts at this point. I mean what a strange place. People are trying to burn the funds to keep more value from eroding. It is like like pushing your car 10 miles so you can play your stereo to look cool when you could have just busted out a bluetooth speaker and played songs from your phone.
I do not pay much attention to all that, I just consider it a free blogging platform that gives out a small amount of worthless tokens.
It certainly is how you look at it for sure. The dream would be where we could be on 5 or 6 of these platforms and be able to make several hundred worth of crypto each day across all of them. It really seems like that is only possible during a very short period of parabolic moves during the booms. Then it is all hands on deck to pump out as much stuff as possible in that 6 month span of time.
You might see some of those familiar faces over on LBRY(https://lbry.tv/$/following/channels) now trying to do the same thing. If you have over 1000 followers on youtube it might be worth syncing your stuff to get the free lbry coins.
