Tree Tuesday - Spirit Trees in Thailand...Part #2
In last weeks @treetuesday i spoke about the customs of Thai people why they wrapped these huge beautiful trees with colored fabric and believe that spirits live in these huge trees well the other day i saw another one of these big beautiful huge tree only this one had all these Thai traditional dresses hanging of this huge beautiful tree.
I did mention that the Thai people leave offering at the base of these huge trees to keep the spirits happy and in peaceful moods but i was curious why these beautiful Thai traditional dresses were hanging of this tree at first i thought ok nice place to hang them out to dry but looking further into this it wasn't the case.
*Thai people believe different kinds of spirits live in different types of trees and the most popular spirits are Nang Tani and Nang Takian. The Nang Takian is the spirit that lives in hopea trees and looks something like a elf , Thai people see them as something like a beautiful Thai ladies in there traditional costumes is why they leave these traditional costumes hanging on the tree so the spirits can slip into them when they appear. They are harmless and friendly.
The Nang Tani spirits are the more popular ones living in the trees. Thai people believe that these spirits are young beautiful Thai ladies in there traditional green costumes. They mainly appear around the tree slightly waving in the air and not touching the ground with their feet. It is known that these beautiful lady spirits appear around the tree at full moon.
The legends say that the Nang Tani spirits are friendly. It is said and believed by Thai women that this peaceful nymphs may punish… men who behaved badly with a woman very interesting assumption.
So there you have it the reasons why these beautiful traditional dresses are left as a offering to these beautiful Thai lady spirits.

On a more serious note, the Cheetah is less friendly then the tree spirits. You need to be very careful and site anything used. Just a friendly tip :)
Yep it's red Fanta those spirits get looked after better then the homeless people..lol
