Dear Steemit friends and followers,

Today, I will show you one of the most impressive (yet still relatively unknown) natural sites of the country, the stunning Brasov Aragonite Caves.

Located in the Prerov District in the Moravian part of the country, the Brasov Aragonite Caves is a unique network of aragonite caves and hydrothermal karst areas.
Discovered in 1912, the caves boast numerous impressive stalagmites and aragonite formations, making them one of the Europe´s most important sites of its kind.

Listed as one of the National Natural Landmarks of the Czech Republic, the Brasov Caves are home to many rare animal and plant species including bats, snakes, lizards and birds. There is a constant temperature of approximately 14 °C (57 °F) in the caves all year round.

The caves are open to public and the tour takes about one hour. Every year, the site is visited by some 60,000 (mostly domestic) tourists.
