Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great day! :) As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

The best 15 entries of the day will get my upvote. I will then pick the absolute winner of the day from these 15 photos. The winning photo will be awarded with a bigger upvote and it will also be featured as the cover image for the challenge post the next day to give the author of the winning shot some more exposure and publicity.

Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words and let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

There were many great entries submitted in the yesterday Prague/Czech Republic photo challenge and I had a hard time picking the best one. After a deliberate consideration, however, I decided to choose the following entry by @softa:

The lookout tower on Petrin Hill was built in 1891 as a 5x smaller copy of the Eifel Tower. In 1953, a television antenna was added to the top. In 1979, the lookout tower was closed to the public due to a poor technical condition. It was opened again in 1991.

The "Narodni Divadlo" which overlooks the Vltava, just in front of the "Legion" bridge. There, the building is superb as much from the outside as from the inside. Its cultural and symbolic importance is central during the last hundred years of Czech national history, especially during the second half of the nineteenth century during the Czech National Revival.

What a great close up image of this tremendous building. A perfect cover image for today´s contest. Thank you so much and have a great day. Tomas

Bata Channel (Batuv Kanal in the Czech language) - a unique historical waterway built between 1934 and 1937. Measuring 52 km in lentgh, the channel connects the South Moravian towns of Otrokovice and Rohatec.

View of the famous Kravare Chateau, a majestic Baroque chateau located in the little Silesian town of Kravare. The building was first mentioned in the first half of the 16th century but its current shape was formed during a reconstruction between 1721 and 1728. The chateau also includes a museum, permament exhibitions, vast English-style parks and even a golf course.

Olomouc's astronomical clock is so different from the majority of the astronomical clocks. It has no saints, or religious figures, it has proletarian people. Of course, it's not the original one, that was destroyed at the end of the World War II. When it was reconstructed by Karel Svolinský in the period between 1947–1955, he used the government-approved style of the time, featuring proletarians.

Great to see this clock to make it to the contest. Great job!

This is a peculiar clock, which works with the sun and the shadow would be the hands of the clock, it is very funny and very striking for tourists. I've always said, the Czech Republic's sculptures are the best I've ever seen, they're so original that you're amazed by such an imagination of the artists.

Yeah, very controversial:)....

St. John Nepomuk's statue is easy to find on the Charles Bridge.
There are masses of tourists trying to touch it for good luck, for return to Prague, probably for any wish they want granted. Most people know that he was thrown into the river on the jealous King's orders, as he would not reveal the secret confessed to him by the Queen. He defended the Seal of the Confesional. Of course it is worthwhile to find his statue.

After 4 months living in Prague during the winter I was finally back this weekend to experience Prague with a good weather. It was not the best weekend for good weather but it was really hot on Thursday. I really enjoyed being able to sit at a (not touristic) terrace with a beer and reading a book.

Glad to see you have made it back. I hope that beer was good:)....

Yeah the beer was good :D But unfortunately, it was just for the weekend to see some friends...

The narrow streets of the Prague district of Hradčany are the ideal place to enjoy peace. These streets are very exceptionally visited by tourists. It is possible to find the original architecture of the Hradčany. This is the only part of town where still reigns serene atmosphere that I remember from the early '90s, before the city began pulling crowds of tourists.

Mikulov - The natural monument was a flooded limestone quarry at the Mariánský Mill in Mikulov. Its name is Lom Janičův vrch. The announcement culminated in a multi-year process where the experts instead explored and documented its natural values.

Praga 2.jpg

Prague has been a political, cultural and economic centre of central Europe complete with a rich history. Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing by the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras, Prague was the capital of the kingdom of Bohemia and the main residence of several Holy Roman Emperors, most notably of Charles IV.
