Travelling / Beautiful places of Holland ♡

Travelling  So, I’m in a current state of looking for a job. My mom had a week off and i decided to give her 2 days off. It seemed like a great plan to just go travel. But the way up was a hell. It seemed like everything was perfectly planned. But as soon as we were on the train to Maastricht the conductor was telling everyone in the train wouldn’t go further because of a railroad incident (idk what?) So we had to take a bus. All by all the whole travel took us about 5 HOURS to arrive in Maastricht. It was sweating hot outside, the trains were all cram-full. But when we finally arrived in Maastricht/Our hotel everything was fine. The first day we went shopping in Maastricht and stayed at a hotel there. Maastricht was first of all really pretty, but farther not about that. I like to travel and most of the times I'm thinking about going to other countries. I live in the Netherlands and would never think about going on holiday in own country, But i forgot about a lot of places. There's a province called Limburg. Valkenburg is a city in the Dutch municipality Valkenburg aan de Geul, located in the South Limburg hills. Valkenburg is the largest core and name giver of this municipality. Valkenburg has a strong tourist character. It's 3 hours from where I live. I never thought about The Netherlands as being a beautiful place. Some towns are nice and i could live there for sure, but the nature is missing. Limburg has it all. Maybe because it’s near Germany. So the second day (the day after we went to Maastricht) we decided to go to Valkenburg. And to be really honest, it was amazing. First, we got lost ( I don’t know how ) but we searched for a castle and ended up not knowing where we were. So we asked people passing by and they helped us friendly to find the way. ( ended up we walked along the castle and didn't even notice because it's on a hill )But never mind that. We arrived at a place where you could have a tour through the caves. We asked why we couldn't visit it by ourselves, but the tour guide laughed and said ''if you want to come out with a funeral director'' First, we didn't understand the joke. But when we ended the cave with the tour we did understand. It's very cold inside the caves, the tour leader brought a light, but without it you couldn't see ANYTHING, and it's big you can lose the way very easily. Inside the caves there were a lot of things to see. The name of the cave is velvet cave. one of the oldest underground tunnel systems in South Limburg. Marvel at the stories about the block breakers that won marl for centuries to build castles and churches. The tour guide told us about the people who were hiding in this cave in wars. There were also beautiful paintings and sculptures in the cave. An impressive trip ... When we finally went outside (because it was SO cold) we ended on top of the hill. The view over Valkenburg was amazing. I realised this is just a beautiful place and that in my own country. I discovered that you don't always have to look for beautiful places in other countries.
