Hey Steemit!

So if you didn't catch the last post, I started writing about our trip to Paris way back in June 2016 when we went there for summer school! Both of us enrolled in a Luxury Management course at a college called HEC Paris! The course itself was 2 weeks long, but we booked our flight a week earlier so we could travel and explore the city.

In the last post, we'd just alighted from our flight on Turkish Airlines (transitioned in Istanbul) and were heading to our Airbnb just outside the main part of Paris. Sorry for the cliffhanger! But now you're all caught up so let's get the show on the road!

8 June 2016. Wednesday.

The Airbnbs in the centre of Paris are pretty expensive, so we opted for more affordable options in the suburbs! We were staying in this area called Champigny-sur-Marne, a little ways southeast from the city centre.

It was a really nice apartment, and we got there a little early and saw the owner cleaning up for us which was really nice.

Once we dropped off our luggage, we went to go explore the neighbourhood, starting with some late lunch!

We found this Turkish kebab place that was pretty cheap so we decided to try it out! Neither of us had ever tried Turkish food before, but this kebab sandwich was really good! The meat was nice and lean, and the fries were crispy and adequately salty, just how I like it.

Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the shop! Dang. I wish I had the foresight to do that back then. *sigh*

After that yummy lunch/snack, we walked for a little bit just enjoying the fresh Parisian air, when we came across this patch of grass with soo many little white flowers!

It was so pretty! Although Singapore is known as a 'garden city', all our plants are strategically placed, so I've never seen a patch of wildflowers before. It was a really nice welcome to Paris!

We also passed by a playground and hung around for a little bit. Sean even found a pull-up bar!

They also had these funny little hut-like structures which was strange but I somehow managed to fit inside it!

There was also this metal slide that got warm pretty quickly from the sun!

After that, we started walking towards the station to see where it was and how it worked so we were prepared for tomorrow.

We spotted a supermarket nearby so we went to check it out next! If you didn't already know, we love supermarkets, and snacks.

I promised my friend I'd take a wacky photo when we arrived in Paris so here it is!

Yes, that’s me brandishing a baguette. The only thing missing is a beret.

Not a beret, but still a pretty nice hat.

After we were done getting supplies, we headed back to our new home to drop them off and rest for a little bit. We headed out again a couple of hours later in search of dinner!

There was a train track right in the middle of the road that wasn't barricaded or anything! It looked like those trains in the countryside I always read about in books, with the trains right next to a forest and stuff. It was so cool!

Can you believe it was around 6:30pm when we took this! Summer weather man

Sorry if I sound like such a city dweller, but we don't have this in Singapore either. I mean we had trains, but they were mostly underground or high above ground. And you couldn't stand on the tracks like this or you'd get in trouble. So we felt like real daredevils. XD

We found this nice-smelling bakery with all sorts of pastries!

Walking along, we got pretty hungry so we stopped by this little pizza place to have dinner!

It was called Rapido Pizza and was a pretty nice place. Cozy and comfortable. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and carbonara to share.

The pizza had a slightly burnt crispy crust, and was pretty good. But the carbonara was sooo filling! I think we couldn't finish it because it was just too much. It got a little plain and dry after a while so we didn't finish it. It was alright in the beginning though, and we were soo full after that!

That's all for today! Now you see why I had to leave it at a cliffhanger last time. I hope you'll join me for this Parisian adventure! Next up: Disneyland!

Thanks for reading!
