Travel Blog Series #03 featuring the San Diego Galleon
A replica of San Diego Galleon
A week ago we visited the Philippine National Museum located at Padre Burgos Drive near Rizal Park Manila. This is open from 10am to 5pm and without any entrance fee. So that more Filipinos can get a chance to visit this enchanting museum. Let me share some of photos. Starting with this replica of San Diego Galleon.
A Brief History
400 years ago a ship from Spain sunk off the coast of Manila Bay way back 1600 and found all of this crafts.
The old Cannons found in this ship.
As you may see it was so old, but still on a good condition.
The other stuff that they recovered on this shipwreck was these set of Porcelain artifacts. From Jingdezhen China. The designs are in Blue and White flower decor.
The ancient set of Jars, plates, and bottles.
The Porcelain was first made by Chinese; The Ming Dynasty. It is more popular that porcelain was made orginally in China. They uses a kaolin (white china clay) and petuntse also known (feldspatic rock/china stone)
Additional artifacts is this set of gold rosary with ivory.
The Spaniards introduces the Catholism in the Philippines. This rosary was a very good proof of it.

San Diego Galleon a trading ship named San Antonio before hurriedly changed to a warship. Thank you for sharing informative details regarding this ship and photos of artifacts and recovered kinds of stuff.
