Have you been to the Sunflower Maze in Tayug Pangasinan?

in #travelfeed5 years ago

In the Philippines, you'll definitely find lots of flower farms. And more often than not, these farms grow sunflowers. One of these gardens can be found in Tayug, a small town in the province of Pangasinan. The garden is aptly called the Sunflower Maze because of how the owner plotted the flowers to grow in sections forming one beautiful labyrinth of yellows, reds, pinks and greens, but mostly yellow.

The garden is said to be the first of its kind in the Philippines, and is owned by Allied Botanical Corporation. It is usually closed to the public, but from February to end of April or the blooming season of each year the garden would open itself to visitors.

We were lucky that when we visited, the sunflowers were still on its blooming phase although according to the caretakers of the garden, if we went there the week after, we would have arrived late as the flowers would have mostly wilted.

Although the Sunflowers are the gardens main attraction, there are many areas that are equally stunning, and instagram-worthy. Some plots of lands have ornamental plants growing inside sprinklers, tires, and other recycled containers forming a really huge colorful landscape.

According to the caretakers, there are more than 8000 plus sunflowers that they tend to form the maze, unfortunately because we came in April, some of these sections were covered because the flowers have started to wither. These sections were being tilled for seeding, so the need to have them covered.

The entire farm is covering almost two-thirds of a three hectare land, and getting inside isn't free. Ticket price is super cheap though as you can get in for less than 2 USD or 100 Php.

**Other Important Information: **

  1. The farm is only open during blooming season, and that usually is from February to middle of April.
  2. Elevated platforms are found in the area for visitors who want to take an areal shot of the maze.
  3. The farm accepts Prenup shoot for Php7000
  4. Getting to the farm from Manila is a four to six hour drive depending on the traffic.

That's it. I hope you enjoyed this entry, and if you like more contents like this please follow me and upvote my posts. Maraming maraming salamat po (Thank you very much!)

Prenup shoot sounds like a good idea for this beautiful farm

It definitely is, but make sure to do it between Feb and March as the garden is closed for the rest of the year. 😊

It sure look like a worth visiting place, considering the weather conditions too
