Vida Cafe in Canggu, Bali
If you go to Canggu for a short visit, make sure you're staying somewhere near Batu Balong for the first few days.
It's where a lot of the main stuff is, and if you're too scared to ride a motorcycle (I finally got the guts to rent one today...if you don't hear from me again it's because I'm a bad driver haha) you can walk to a lot of places.
I love to just hop from place to place, and order a drink in one and food in another. That way I get to experience more places in less time.
One of the places I aimlessly stumbled upon while walking down the road was Vida Cafe. It's a great place to eat an hang out, but maybe don't plan on working there because it's usually packed and would be super distracting (plus it may not be so nice to take a table for 4 hours when so many people are trying to eat there).
I ordered the healthy food bowl, and all I have to say is...it was so freaking exciting to eat because the colors kept blending together like you blend paint on a paint palette.
I felt like I was experiencing the true meaning of food art just by eating it.
See how the orange from the pumpkin blends in with the magenta from the jackfruit and makes some kind of beautiful orange-magenta mix that looks like a sunset? Isn't it soo cool? Maybe I'm just way too easily amused. 😆
I gave you the ugliest picture first so that you set low expectations for the rest of this post haha.
Why do adults tell kids they shouldn't play with their food? I definitely think you SHOULD. It's way more fun that way.
Here's what my food looked like before I devoured it like a ravenous hobo who hadn't eaten for days:
While I was eating, a flower fell into my bowl! It felt like a gift from heaven. Like, yay! God got me a flower! Do you see the flower in there?
There was this cool skull made out of seashells. I'm gonna have to google what that's all about...I thought skulls were just a Mexican/Guatemalan Day of the Dead thing.
Not only is the food beautiful, but the cafe/ restaurant is beautiful, too.
Definitely come here if you have a chance! If you have any food allergies, they'll let you swap out anything you want for no extra charge! I took out 3 items out of the bowl that I was allergic to and added 3 other items at no added cost.
I guess they don't mind high maintenance here! I hate being one of "those" people because I'm typically the most low maintenance person ever.
Hmmm.... Maybe I should put this cafe to the test and try to swap out like 10 items to see if they can remember it all.
What are those things beside your food in wooden bowl?
Dessert came to my mind.
The person that made that skull though. Keep us posted with your google findings
Oo good question! Beet hummus and some weird kind of cashews. I saw more skulls on other places today as well!
Weird kind of cashews? I am weird and will love to taste some weird cashews. Haha
More Skulls? I hope your hand was stuck to the shutter of your Camera.
Wow - the 'before' shot of the food is AWESOME. And now I am hungry. Damn. :) Enjoy Bali, enjoy every moment.
Thanks!
Absolute awesome. Glimpse of fine and neat art can be seen in food. Itooks yummy. Last photos are cool. Antique look . Loved it😍

What about life in Bali??
How much do you need average per day? [considering being a low-maintenance haha]
