I'm Writing This From A Ball Pit
I almost hate to tell you about this, because I want to keep these balls to myself.
But, I don't want to be a selfish jerk, so I decided to share.
One of my favorite things about Chiang Mai is there are so many hidden gems all around the city just waiting to be discovered.
You can find a lot of them just by walking around and getting lost... which is perfect for me because I'm directionally challenged, and my GPS is directionally challenged, too (so I'm kind of a lost cause, even with GPS... 😆 see what I did there?).
I'm kind of glad I don't know what the heck to do with a map, though, because getting lost has led to some of the best adventures. Like that time I got lost in the jungle.
Anyway, I was looking for the way home one day, and I happened to walk by this place called "Pencil Cafe" and just had to go in. Because who can say no to a ball pit and plush pencils?
So, I told some friends about it who also work online, and we went together and made a work day out of it. #AdultingRealHard.
This is us with laptops to prove that we're doing all the productive things:
Pro Tip #1: If you want to increase productivity, science has shown that you should work while laying down in this position:
Ok, we didn't get anything done. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, silly.
What can I say? It's really easy to get distracted when balls are involved.
Pro Tip #2: When working from a ball pit isn't working... just have a photoshoot instead.
Or hit your friends with pencils.
It's really all you can do since you know, work is obviously not completely on the table anymore.
Speaking of on the table...
Guess what cool thing they put on our table at this awesome little cafe?
Can you guess? Do you know what the heck this thing is?
This drink is called the Skyfall. Also known as cotton candy on a stick floating over coffee.
It's called Skyfall 'cause the heat from the coffee melts the cotton candy into your cup.
The sugar also gets all on the rim of your cup, too, kind of like the salt on a margarita glass, only a cotton candy version for coffee.
This is what it looks like when it's melting:
The best way of putting sugar in your coffee ever!
I never want to go back to the old outdated method of opening up a pack of sugar and pouring it in. Borrrringggg.
You can also pour your creamer through the "cloud."
(Sorry about the picture quality on most of these. I'm not going to lie, I took some screenshots from a Snapchat I took and that turned out to be a bad life choice. Don't be like me, guys. Make better life choices.)
If you don't want coffee, you can get Thai tea for 110 baht, which is a little under $4 USD.
On top of the super cool drinks, they also have cute cakes!
Freaking delicious ones, too. I've tried cake 3 different times in Chiang Mai, and to be honest, none of them were good except for the one I had here.
Besides all that, the rest of the place is just great for a work environment. Here are some pics of that the rest of it looks like...
Store hours, if you ever want to go:

They put these on your table while you're waiting:
I went back a different day so that I could write this post in the pit:
And also say goodbye to you from it!
😍 omg, i love everything about that place! i must visit it once i'm in the region!🥂 the balls (like you, i adore feeling like a kid as often as i can!:)), the design and most importantly - the skyfall! it looks amazing! perfect combination of sth for adults and sth for kids! 😅
aw yeah!! me too!!! I love that you're like that! I just celebrated my 30th bday by riding on a dinosaur (definitely a ride for 8 year olds haha)
Pro tip #3: Hitting your friends with pencils can potentially spark inspiration or cause a serious concussion.
Lol I don't know why, but that made me think of something my art teacher said once "we don't have pencils anymore because kids used to stab each other with them and die." Lol that's horrible but she always said it in a funny way
Hahaha
I kept laughing all the way.
You're friends are fun to be with.
And 'getting lost' doesn't seem so bad for ya
Lol nope. It always ends up so fun!
I freakin LOOOOVE Chaing Mai!
I could spend so much time in that city.
There are so many fun places to check out and good places to eat at.

Haha I know, right?!? Chiang Mai is awesome. Today I rode on a dinosaur through the mall! This is why I love this place lol
Woooooooooooow!!!! Such a cool place!! I want to go there someday T_T
While I was university sometimes I used to study in the position in Tip 1 :) but I was thinking that it is a bad thing u know... :))))
Hahaha nahhh it's great! 😂
Excuse me, but is this heaven?!
haha yes, basically! Come hang out in ball pit heaven with me!
Omg!!!! I wish I went to this ball pit in Chaing Mai! What fun!
Come back! 😀 We'll hang out
Need to go to this cafe when we head up to Chiang Mai in due course. Looks like soooo much fun and you definitely got a productive day out of it. hehehe
Lol so much work done! Definitely go!
Am in love with Chiang Mai and I should definitely go there.! YOu're giving me lots of things to go to now. Someday. Take a deep breath. Someday. ♥ But seeing you and your friends are pretty fun so doesn't matter. Glad you shared this with us.
♥The cotton candy hanging on a coffee is such a clever idea.
I know! I love the creativity of places like that.! I'm glad you can enjoy at least through posts. Virtual hug
