mass area

Are you familiar of Senior Sto. Niño, the child Jesus? Catholic religion is one of the biggest population of the people here. It will be obvious that most of the festival will because of our religion. Like for example fiesta, it's about the celebration of a specific place but then celebrate it as a reference of a Saint.

Now, what I'm going to share to you is this Basilica where one of the biggest celebration once a year in the Philippines. Yes, the **"SINULOG"** is what I'm talking here. I don't know if it's true but this celebration is popular all over the world. Where the whole city of cebu will be closed during this celebration because of many activities.

The most popular or where should the mass be held is here. In this Basilica where the Sto. Niño takes place. This Basilica is very old, actually there's a big church at the front of it but because of many people visited here to attend mass. Not to mention there are also tourist who visits this Basilica like a tourist spot because many people came here.

church

This is the old church, before this was the only place where the mass be held. You can see lot of statue here of the young Jesus Christ. AS of now there will be mass happening when it's an ordinary day. But if there will be an event or day that many people will attend the mass like for example Friday and Sunday. The mass will be held at the previous image that I showed.

There will only be happening a mass inside the church sometimes. But it's fine because you can go inside the church. You can see old style of handicraft, like chairs, tables and of course the statue. I don't know if the gold colour of some statue is true. Anyway let's have a walk inside the Basilica, not in the church only.

candle lighting

We Filipinos does love to pray and lit and candle in praying. We usually do it in the front of a statue of a Saint. Sometimes in the church as well but of course there will be a Saint in the front. This is the place where you can light a candle for free. Yes, it's free; if do you want many candles to use. You can have how many you want here for free. You can also place the candles here. That metals you see, that's the place where you place the candle and light a fire to the candle. Have anothe look...

lighting area as well

The place where you can light candles are wide. This was just the hall way I captured.

a statue in the wall

This is located at the side in the candle lighting area. The statue of young Jesus and women worshiper.

top of the mass area

There was an activity when I went to church an hour ago. That's why the seats below were occupied. I have no choice but to go in the top where there's no rough. It's not a good idea to be here during noon because there's no cover from the sun. Another view above...

statues of Saints

This will be found near the stairs.

crowd near the church

Before I'll end my post let me show you the numbers of people that came to attend the mass. Anyway here some details about this place. It's nice to visit here because it's free and the building was made long time ago. The architecture of it is very nice, especially inside the church. This is not a tourist spot but many foreign people visited here. I often saw Korean's visit this place. The environment is also nice because it's surrounded with trees and the place is wide that will be easy for you to breathe fresh air.

This place was located in Cebu, City. You can see it the location if you'll use the travelfeed app. I put the exact location where to find. Also I want to entry it to #marketfriday by @dswigle because this happened in my friday.
