Buenas noches, dear Steemians!
I had a lot of fun taking you with me to my travel through Kenya. So I would be happy, when you join me on my blog through Mexico.
Mir hat es riesigen Spass gemacht, euch auf meinen Reiseblog Wanderlust Kenia mitzunehmen. Deshalb freue Ich mich, wenn Ihr mich auch auf meinen Blog durch Mexiko begleitet.
Tulum Ich komme...
In aller Herrgotts frühe macht ich mich von Köln auf den Weg in die verbotene Stadt(Düsseldorf) - nicht allzu Ernst nehmen, Ich lebe die Rivalität der beiden Städte mit einer gesunden Portion Humor ;) - , um meinen Flieger Richtung Cancun zu besteigen.
Nach CANCUN?!? Zum Ballermann Mexikos? Keine Sorge! Cancun sollte bloss mein Landeplatz sein. Nach 2 Filmen, ein wenig Schlaf und 10 Stunden später betrat Ich das erste Mal mexikanischen Boden. Mein erstes Reiseziel hatte Ich mir bereits vor meinem Abflug ausgesucht. Mit meinen kleinen spanisch Kenntnissen versuchte Ich ein Taxi nach Tulum zu organisieren. Nach lustiger und anstrengender Diskussion (wir konnten uns preislich nicht einigen :D) entschied Ich mich aber für den Bus, der schon in wenigen Minuten abfahren sollte. Die Busfahrt zog sich in die länge. Kurz vor 22Uhr kam Ich in mein (bereits zuhause) gebuchtes Hostel ''The weary traveler hostel''. Das "weary traveler" kann ich nur jedem empfehlen. Absolut nettes Personal, gemeinsames Kochen/Essen für einen schmalen Taler und fast jeden Abend eine Stunde Margarita(Der Cocktail, nicht die Pizza) ;) aufs Haus. Nach 2 Margaritas und einem Bier ging es ins Bett, denn Ich wollte am nächsten Morgen in eine in der Nähe befindliche Cenote.
Tulum I'm coming...
Early in the morning I set off from Cologne to the forbidden city (Düsseldorf) - don't take it too seriously, I live the rivalry of the two cities with a healthy portion of humour;) - to get on my plane towards Cancun.
To CANCUN?!? To the mexican party area? Don't worry! Cancun should just be my landing place. After 2 movies, a little sleep and 10 hours later I entered Mexican ground for the first time. I had already chosen my first destination before my departure. With my little Spanish knowledge I tried to organize a taxi to Tulum. After a funny and exhausting discussion (we couldn't agree on the price: D) I decided to take the bus, which should leave in a few minutes. The bus ride was really long. Shortly before 10:00 pm I arrived at my (already at home) booked hostel'' The weary traveler hostel''. I can recommend the "weary traveler" to everyone. Absolutely nice staff, common cooking/eating for a small price and almost every evening an hour of free Margaritas (the cocktail, not the pizza). After 2 margaritas and a beer I went to bed, because I wanted to go to a nearby cenote the next morning.
After a great breakfast I took the bike from the hostel (free of charge) to the "Grand Cenote" - it is about half an hour by bike away. 100 pesos (5 euros) relatively expensive, but it should be worth it!

What is a Cenote...
These bathing holes got the name Cenote from the Mayas. The limestone dissolves through the groundwater, forming caves and underground watercourses. You can imagine that there is a huge underground watercourse system all over Yucatan. In some places the ceiling of the cave has collapsed. The created hole filled with fresh water is called a cenote.

Particularly deep cenotes were considered by the Majas as an entrance to the underworld and were used as a place of sacrifice.
Was ist eine Cenote...
Den Namen Cenoten haben diese Badelöcher von den Mayas bekommen. Durch das Grundwasser löst sich der Kalkstein, wodurch sich Höhlen und unterirdische Wasserläufe gebildet haben. Man kann es sich so vorstellen, dass es in ganz Yucatan ein riesengroßes unterirdisches Wasserlaufsystem gibt. An manchen Stellen hat die Höhlendecke nachgegeben. Das mit Süßwasser entstandene Loch bezeichnet man dann als Cenote.

Besonders tiefe Cenoten wurden von den Majas als Eingang in die Unterwelt betrachtet und wurden als Opferstätte benutzt.
I stayed in the cenote for a long time. At 35 degrees Celsius, the Cenote was a welcome cooling.
Around noon, it gets very crowded in the cenotes, so you should visit them in the morning.

untouched nature...
It is nice to see that the people care for the nature and protect it. The tenants of the Cenote take great care, care and clean the Cenote and make sure that no guest destroys anything. Even the animals feel good and come to visit you while bathing.;)

Es ist schön zu sehen, dass die Natur gepflegt und behütet wird. Die Pächter der Cenote kümmern sich sehr, pflegen und säubern die Cenote und passen auf, dass kein Gast etwas zerstört. Selbst die Tiere fühlen sich wohl und kommen einen beim baden besuchen. ;)
