[유럽여행] Trip to Norway

in #travelfeed6 years ago (edited)

Oslo was our last city, which we visited on this trip. It is a very beautiful small Scandinavian town. Old city.

In Oslo, we arrived early in the morning by the bus Flixbas. A bit dawn, and we are already in Oslo ... We were super hungry so we decided to go have breakfast in the nearest McDonald's. We stayed there for a couple of hours cuz the city was still asleep and there was nothing to do.

In Oslo we decided to take a free walking tour. By 10 am we met with a guide. The guide was a girl from Latvia, who has lived in Oslo for a long time. We met with her near to the famous statue of a walking tiger, which is right in front of the railway station.

From there we headed towards the Norwegian Opera, which is famous for its unusual architecture. The roof of the building is like a ladder without steps, along which you can climb to the very top of the building. The building of the opera is like an iceberg. This was the main concept of this creation. The opera is located on the river's coast, and on the water is the famous monument to the constant changes "Reclining". The 16-meter monument revolves around the axis, demonstrating to visitors of the city its beauty from different sides.

Near the opera is the orange building of the former city hall, police station, and today it is a small cozy restaurant. In front of the building there is a sculpture of a glove or a brush.

In Oslo, the color of houses depended on the status of its owner. The redest houses were inhabited by the poorest people, in the yellow houses lived people of a middle class, and aristocrats lived in white houses.

Another unusual place in Oslo is the Akershus fortress. Today this place is used for different state events. There is also a museum dedicated to the 2nd World War.

Here, next door is the building of the current city hall, the entrance to which is free. And inside the City Hall as a museum, the walls of the museum of autumn are unusual and very beautiful!

5 minutes from the City Hall are the Parliament and the Royal Palace.

If you visit Oslo, it is impossible not to visit the open-air museum, in the unusual Vigeland Sculpture Park. It took about 40 minutes to get there. On that day, a marathon was held in the city, so many roads were blocked.

Well, by the end of my story a couple of interesting facts about Oslo. First, since 2018, the army is compulsory for girls. And secondly, prostitution is legal, but not for both sides, being a client is not legal.

The journey is over and it's time to go back to Umeå. Bye, Oslo.
