Danish Flora on Fyn

Our travels in Denmark next took Allan (@hanedane) and I to the island of Fyn (pronounced foon), east of the main island of Sjælland. The more modern name for the island is Funen; an -en ending means "the."

Purple heart in Odense

Fyn is fairly small; you can drive across the whole island in 45 minutes. Its largest city is Odense which was, of course, the hometown of Hans Christian Andersen.

When we arrived in Odense, they were preparing for a flower festival that, unfortunately, was still a few days out. We were more focused on Andersen anyway, but did snap a few photos of beautiful plants growing in town.

The highlight of Fyn's flora, though, came on our visit to Egeskov Slot, a castle in Kværndrup. I'll be doing a post on Egeskov Slot soon, but here I'd like to share several specimens in the castle's dahlia garden, as well as gorgeous trees and hedges all over the estate.

Cool really love the shots of the castle with the hedge maze in front of it and those pitcher plants are awesome, gotta love carnivorous plants

I couldn't believe a cold, northern country like Denmark could grow pitcher plants! I'm clearly ignorant about such things. 😃 And yes, that castle was amazing. I'm doing a post on it soon.

those trees are outrageous, i want to swim in them

The age on some of those trees! <3 <3 And the history...it looks like heaven though not for the insects coming in contact with those pitcher plants lol.

Stunning photos of stunning places! 😍 The architecture and all the green ... so gorgeous :) Thank you for sharing with us all the fun you guys are having over there! <3

Hi @geke,
Thank you for participating in the #travelfeed curated tag. To maintain a level of quality on the project we have certain criteria that must be met for participation. Please review the following: https://travelfeed.io/@travelfeed/how-to-participate-use-travelfeed-in-your-posts

@travelfeed, this is why manual curation is a better idea than bots that count words and sort out "unwanted" tags (I've seen a creative post on sewing footbags get auto-booted from creative coin because it dared to use a sportstalk tag). Just get some eyeballs on the post to see if it's a fit for your tag!!! (This is also why I only manually curate now... no more bot voting.) If curation is important to this community, we ought to be doing it OURSELVES.

TravelFeed is a platform focussed on travel blogging, and while your post has nice photos, it does not meet our requirements. You wouldn't believe how many 10 word appics submissions we get that don't even come close to a blog, so in order to save our curators (and users) the time of reading all these spammy and short posts, posts under 250 words that we wouldn't consider for curation anyway are filtered out automatically and don't appear on our platform TravelFeed.io. Just like a one-photo post wouldn't appear on Dtube. The automated comment you received is in order to inform you of this fact.

While we send out automated comments, all our upvotes are done manually by our curation team, and since we enjoy your photos and want to encourage you to write longer blogs in the future, we have given you a partial upvote.

Btw: We are not just a curated tag, but a travel platform on Steem, and while we still allow submissions through other frontends like Steemit, when posting through our platform TravelFeed.io you can earn larger upvotes, and our editor makes sure to inform you of our requirements ;)
