A Hike in the Tamborine Nationalpark # 1 Curtis Falls and Cedar Creek Falls
Yesterday, after two days of rain, we thought it´s a good day to spend in a nearby Nationalpark. Tamborine Nationalpark consists of 14 sections from which we´ve only visited 3. One section, the Witches Falls section was declared in 1908, making it the first Nationlpark of Queensland.
First we went to the Joalah section with it´s Curtis Falls. We were really hoping that the rain was enough to see some water in the falls.
We went for the Lower creek circuit walk, which is 2.5km return and takes you about 1 hour. It´s an grade 4 walk, so not suitable for everyone but not really hard. The walk begins in a wet eucalyptus forest, which was good since it was already warming up.
We reached the Falls pretty early and were disappointed as there was almost no water running down.
From there on it went downhill to the Cedar Creek. The track consists around 100 steps and since it´s a circuit you need to walk them up again. But as said, it´s not to hard.
There were these massive trees everywhere with lots of birds in it. The sound of this forest was absolutely amazing. There was not only one second were it was quite.
Arrived at the creek the picture was unfortunately the same, hardly any water. But that was to be expected. But the atmosphere down there was really mystical. Unfortunately, pictures cannot express how nice it was there.
From that point on it went uphill again. But the environment remained the same, huge trees and ferns everywhere.
Back at the top we had a quick look at the Cedar Creek waterfalls before noon. Unfortunately due to the lack of water relatively unspectacular. But the view was great.
