El Bandido
Hello everyone!
So, last night I was able to return a restaurant that I really enjoy in NY
El Bandido Mexican Restaurant
The outside is covered in murals, and really stands out from the road. Apparently some people think the building looks sketchy at first, and we had driven past in many times in the past and didn't think of going there. The day that we decided to give it a try, we regretted not going there sooner.
When I moved to Canada, there wasn't really any good Mexican food, so I was really happy to get a chance to come back to El Bandido.
There were 3 of us, and the place was insanely busy when we got there, so we ended up sitting at the bar. This also tempted us to buy some margaritas!
the margaritas here are awesome!
Sitting at the bar was actually really nice. It was less crowded than the tables that they sit you at. I got to see some of the other art on that side of the restaurant, and the lighting was pretty cool.
Somehow, out of all of the pictures that I took, I forgot to take a picture of the food. xD I was too busy eating it. I can tell you, it is some of the best Mexican food I've had in NY. If anyone knows any really good Mexican food in NYC, let me know! I really just wanted to show how awesome the atmosphere is in this place.
There is almost always live music, and you can make song requests.
We couldn't get the dessert course that usually comes with the meal, because we were sitting at the bar. We usually get a fried banana treat, with ice cream, and whipped topping. It's super yummy, and we were disappointed that we would miss out on it. The bartender offered us a shot instead, so we got some big shots of silver tequila.
We left the place with full tummies, and in a good mood. The bill can be expensive here, but it's well worth it! You'll remember the flavors from this place for sure! I highly recommend visiting if you're ever in the Spring Valley area of NY. Apparently there are other El Bandido restaurants, but I can't vouch for them.
When we were leaving, we noticed that even the dumpster area had art on it.
I probably haven't even seen all the art in this place, but I'm sure that I'll be visiting again, before I end up moving again.
Hey at first look I would neither enter there ahaha But then when I read that you forgot to take photo of the food it means it's really GOOD food, thanks for sharing. If I ever go to NY totally going there thanks to you!

haha, I did exactly the same thing recently, went to a restaurant to write about it and forgot to photograph the food. When it's good, I get carried away. Nice post all the same. upvoted.
Did @thecastle order nachos? LOL
