Go to the lively morning market. Yobuko, Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Do you usually enjoy squid? Squid can be boiled, roasted, dried, etc. In our country, it is a good food to cook in various ways. I thought that Korea was the only country to eat dried squid. But, Japan was also a country eating dried squid. Now, I expect that there will be more places to eat dried squid because of the influence of the two countries. It is not necessary to say that it is the best with a beer.

Yobuko is famous for squid among japanese regions. Yobuko is a town located on the coast of Karatsu City in Saga Prefecture in the north of Kyushu. Especially popular here is the morning market. It is one of the best sightseeing courses in Japan. You can enjoy fresh seafood caught from nearby shores, vegetables from local, and processed marine products at stalls. The market is open from 7:30 am to noon, so you have to go early to see the market. The market is about 200 meters long, and you can see and enjoy various products that make use of the local characteristics. Especially, there are many products related to squid, and many specialties such as dried fish are sold. Tasting is also possible, so you can eat and buy. If you look at it, there are a lot of foods called beer. The market closes at noon officially
, but some stalls close after 10 o'clock. So it is advisable to look around as soon as possible.

It takes 30 minutes to 1 hour to see Yobuko's morning market. It's only 200 meters. So what do we do now? Yobuko is a harbor town. Continue to the seaside where the sea is visible, and you can see the unique scenery of a Japanese fishing village in your eyes. When you walk that way, you will get hungry. Since you come to Yobuko, you should eat squid dishes, which are specialties here. Squid and fish restaurants around the Yobuko market are attracting tourists with delicious photos. The squid course dishes with various dishes are over 300 dollars per person. Although it is expensive, you will have desire to buy it when you look photograph. Because I went alone, I ate squid sashimi in a market on the waterfront, not a restaurant. This place sells various fish and food, and also sells it by cooking. The squid swim in the aquarium, and if you choose it, you pay the price according to the weight and bring it to you at the table next to market. It is not a new taste because Korean eat squid sashimi. However, it is fun to show the plate under a transparent squid and the squid sliced like as when it is alive.

On the way back to the bus, I once again saw the scenery of Yobuko. I can remember squid and whale-like cruise ship and ice storehouse, scenery of drying squid, and drying fishes. Yobuko Bridge is always visible around Yobuko market. Coastal cities have large bridges connecting surrounding islands or distant lands. Yobuko also has a Yobuko Bridge that connects the inland and Gabe Islands. There are many coastal cities in our country that have big bridges too. Someday I want to cross the bridge and tour the Gabe Island. In this trip, strange things and familiar things coexisted. When I feel familiar in an unfamiliar place, I feel another fun of traveling.
