Travel Pro Places of Interest #83: Museum of Natural Science in Kiev Ukraine! Part Two (11 photos)

in #travel6 years ago

Hey there my Steemit friends! In this Travel Pro Places of Interest Series we focus on specific places of interest for a given location. This may come in the form of parks, museums, beaches, cathedrals, and much more. Always an interesting series and always informative!

Here we find ourselves at the Museum of Natural Science in Kiev Ukraine. Science museums are always my favorite kind of museum. Upon a visit to a science museum I always find myself in aw of the world we live in, and here in Kiev they have a really good one and it only cost $2.50 to enter.

This Museum was four floors filled with all sorts of things. Upon entry you go up a flight of stairs and the first exhibit you see is of the Woolly Mammoth. This prehistoric hairy elephant was very prominent in the the region of modern day Ukraine and humans long ago used their bones for many things including building shelters.

In the basement they had a display of original people of this region, showing pottery, tools, and other artifacts. They also had a display of a traditional royal burial ceremony for the king which was actually quite gruesome, as when the king died they killed all his servants too so they would go onto the next life with him.

Many exhibits were real eye grabbers. The hall of taxidermy was a real trip. They also had a large display of insects, dinosaur bones, fossils, sea creatures, and much more. You should definitely plan on spending a couple hours or more upon visiting. Now come along and lets have a look around the Museum of Natural Science in this six part series from Kiev Ukraine!
