Escape to Paradise by Agreeing to Attend a Timeshare Presentation

We routinely see vacations to Las Vegas as little as $99 for three days, a show, a helicopter ride down The Strip and $100 in spending money. Good deal? Absolutely! Tickets to a show can cost as must as $75 a person and a luxury room will cost you upwards of $160-$320 a night. The helicopter ride can be found for $99 a person or more. You would normally spend roughly $600 - $1,000 for the whole trip. Instead, you will only spend a fraction of that. So what's the catch?

You have to attend a timeshare presentation.

Just the mention of a timeshare salesman talking for 90 minutes will send chills up the spine of anyone who has agreed to one.

But does it have to end this way? Certainly not. For the price of spending a quality vacation, seeing a show, and dining at an impressive restuarant, you can easily afford to attend the required presentation. You will be getting a sizable value, a long needed rest, and lots of fun.

So, how do you go on vacation without buying a timeshare? By following a little advice.

First off, there are some great vacation offers available to anyone willing to take advantage of them. For instance, imagine taking your wife or girlfriend to an all-inclusive resort on Mexico's Riviera for only $99. You will spend 5 days on the beach, sit in a hot tub, eat all you want, and swim up to the bar anytime during your stay. This vacation normally would cost more than $1,846, but you're paying a fraction of that. All for an exchange of 90-120 minutes of your time. I think I could give up two hours of beach time if I was seen as the romantic guy who took his wife to paradise (BTW, click here if you want to see this vacation.)

Or, perhaps visiting Las Vegas for an adventure in a luxury suite, a show, and spending money fits the ticket. You can do that at the Tahiti Village, but you will have to attend a timeshare presentation. However, you are getting to spend 3 nights in a suite with two tickets to see Cirque du Soleil included, all for $179. Most rooms in a luxury hotel suite on the Las Vegas Strip start at $300 or more a night. And the price of Cirque tickets typically start at $49 per person. To top it all off, they will drive you to and from The Strip (more money for the poker slots). I have actually seen this resort on a flash sale down to $159.

As you can see, there are wonderful ways to make a vacation a joy rather than a money pit.

Back to the timeshare presentation.

The resort is discounting rooms, amenities, and food to bring more people down to see their property and fall in love. You will fall in love, btw. In fact, after the third day you may be so enamored with the place, you are willing to purchase a timeshare so you never have to leave. It does happen.

However, if you are not in the market for a timeshare, and only want to enjoy your vacation, there are a few things to remember:

• The salesman wants to sell you a timeshare. They will talk up the amenities, the value, the perks, the discounts, and all of the other salesman tricks to convince you to buy.

• Your favorite word for the next 2 hours is No. If you really don't want to buy a timeshare, say No. If you are unable to afford this great deal, say No. Be warned: No is a hard word to say if you feel guilty about taking such a fine vacation for a fraction of the price. You just have to say No for two hours. If you end up saying Yes, it's probably because you really wanted to.

• If you do say Yes, read the fine print and make sure you understand the contract. See if you can get extra perks. Often times you can negotiate for another trip or vacation to somewhere else.

Make the timeshare presentation an opportunity to escape to an expensive vacation and a chance to learn more about different places. Even if you don't want to buy a timeshare, it’s not a bad idea to explore tour deals and start traveling the world like you already own one. You can test the waters, see how different resorts work, and at the same time enjoy a great time.
