Kiwi Bird In NZ | We Met A Dinosaur | WastedLife #kiwibirdlifepark
We are in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand and Sophie hasn't seen the famous Kiwi bird before. So we head to the Kiwi Birdlife Park to see them being feed in person. It was an amazing experiece and there was a live show where we got to learn about and even see a show from Native New Zealand Birds and a Dinosaur ; )

The Kiwi Birdlife Park is involved in coordinated conservation projects throughout New Zealand.
They are a part of the nationwide kiwi breed-for-release programme.
Kiwi are bred at the Park & cared for until they are 1kg in weight – big enough to fend off the predators that are killing them as hatchlings. They are then released into safe predator-controlled areas. They have released kiwi into the Rimutaka Forest Park, Mt Bruce Sanctuary, and the Maungataniwha Sanctuary
CONSERVATION… programmes for over 20 endangered native species, including breed for release for some iconic native species such as Kiwi, Whio, Pateke, Grand Skink and Otago Skink. Some of these species like Pateke (Brown Teal) are incredibly rare. Pateke numbers plummeted to 400 left in the world in the year 2000 and we have released over 100 into the world since then.
They Have 5 acres of forest sanctuary where you will find it enough space to enjoy the beautiful of the park and its birdlife

who knew the kiwi bird population was at such risk of distinction. Who knew that kiwi birds were so adorable too. looks like you all had a fun day at the Zoo. That shot of the bird flying over you was really dope!
Yeah, it would be a sad day if you couldn't call New Zealanders a Kiwi anymore ;)

Hi Mat and Sophie! 😄 You seem to be such great and fun people! I just want to share I've been to NZ before, and I love it! I've seen the Kiwi bird on National Aquarium of NZ in Napier. It's interesting as these cute fellas are nocturnal. So the place where they are staying has to be dimmed, and of course, you have to be quiet. 😊

That's good to hear 😊 Been around to many places around the country, but I explored more of the North Island than the South. On my next visit I shall visit more places in the South Island.
Both Islands have a lot to offer and are beautiful. The SOuth is our faviourate to travel around. We hope you can visit NZ again soon : )
