Okay, I got here way late, but I love this article! It really takes me back to when I got to visit this amazing place. 100+ year old rhododendrons, palms, amazing things at every turn. Crazy that it was lost, but there are lots of plants that will just take over - especially in a place that rains as much as England!
I've got pictures of that kind of caterpillar, btw. He was at a park where my kids were playing... I don't know what it is though.
