'The Steel Rod Master'

I took some time to visit Kamba, my buddy who handcrafts parts for motorcycles. He made my luggage rack a few years back. I prefer buying items from people who actually make them, then order them from a catalogue or the Internet. A real person measuring, making and fitting it on the bike is so old school that it cannot be any older. There is this human touch in the old ways of doing things. I respect the man and I love what he does.

These are the steel rods Kamba bends to make custom handlebars. Do you know what ape-hangers are? Well, if you want the craziest ones your mind can conceive, this is the place to go. I am planning some additions to my bike for some time now but seldom have the time...

He also customizes bikes but not as extensively as Bojan. Bojan the master of HD customization, as you probably recall, is another friend of mine. They often work together. I occasionally meet Kamba when I go to Bojan's shop and take pics of all those bikes I've presented on this blog series on many occasions.

Here we go. Up and shining. Kamba will fix a scratch on my crash bar. I was parking and accidentally hit a small street post. No biggie. But, it gave me an awesome excuse to come for a visit.

The loose translation of this would be: "F... J. Rambo when we got master Kambo." Kamba sure knows his PR. :D

Hmm... I think I want cool-looking foot pegs under the passenger seat. ;)

Enjoy your day! :)

you always giving interesting place travelling post in your blog.its helped me alots of learning new thing of new tropie beautifull place of travelling.. some of these masters have their hands straight from the ass. That is, they are bad masters with good commercial behavior.
Therefore, I respect such people who create values themselves. In your case, this is a man who performs all the stages of his work with his own hands. He measures himself, does himself, performs repair work himself. Worthy of respect. When you give your motorcycle for repairs to this person, you will be assured of the quality of the work. You will be sure that everything will be fine with your motorcycle and it will be in reliable hands.thanks to sharing for your best travelling post..very well done..take care yourself and best of luck of your great work..my dear friend.. @velimir

It's always nice to get some 'special attention' for your baby, isn't it. Looks like Kamba is the attention sort.

I know a couple of guys that make parts, but the problem with them is somebody stops by and says "let's go to __________." and they walk away from their machinery :) I've done so myself.

I would be happy to send you a rear set that I took off a bike and now have sitting around my house. One hangs on the wall as sculpture and the other is just in the way some place. They might take a little modification, they were originally on a Hayabusa....

Thanks for a great look into your friends shop. Much appreciated.

such people are worthy of respect. He is a representative of the minority of those masters who create values with their own hands. Most masters (those who are familiar to me) are speculators. They just order details on the Internet or from the suppliers. Then they use these details and eventually increase the cost several times. But ... they buy parts not of the best quality, but sell them at the cost of quality parts. In addition to this, some of these masters have their hands straight from the ass. That is, they are bad masters with good commercial behavior.

Cool inscription on a T-shirt :)
Thank you

ive been reading about your adventures for a while now. it is motivating to see someone who was here when i joined doing so well.

I also love how you have a friend that handcrafts motorcycle parts that's an awesome buddy to have around!

If you want to be happy for a day, drink.
If you want to be happy for a year, marry.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime, ride a motorcycle !
keep enjoying your beautiful life with your bike and we will be always glad to see your Motorcycle Travel Series everyday.
God bless you @velimir

I also prefer hand made stuffs because there is this assurance that comes with it. Trust me hand made stuff last a long time. Too bad they are been tagged outdated due to the invention of machines. Tell your friend to keep up the good works. I love the bike pictures too... And I just followed you 😀

Se is a sweet looking ride. Love the shine off the chrome. It is always nice to have a "guy" when it comes to your vehicles. If you find one, never let him go. There are lots of people out there only in it for the $$$. It's fun that you get to watch him work and hang out there while your baby is being worked on.

I think the same way, these are the real gems,
They do their work for so much passion, that results in perfection,
I'm not against the online shopping but it could go wrong sometime,
The way you love your bike, you never anything wrong happens to your bike.
I had a bad experience of online shopping, I order a coat, it was looking so beautiful in the catalog, but when it delivered, the cloth quality wasn't up to mark, and the color was also changed.

"The Steel Rod Master" this name was like the I'm the boss.
But i modified the name of the bike into "The Steel Road Master" It seems to me now it's more okay than previous. However i liked this "KAMBA"so much and that t-shirt was cool too.thank you have a good day : )

Nice your friend is really good in his handcraft.Bojan the master of HD customization. Is awesome good. You Guys are so talented and creative. I love that bike. Thanks for sharing dear friend
