Redondo Peak, Jemez Mountains, New Mexico, USA
Redondo Peak in the Jemez Mountains. It's a bigass, inactive volcano. Down narrow Dark Canyon to the right is Jemez Springs, NM, USA.
To my mind, there are two problems with this view. First, there should be more green. But a huge swath of forest burned out in 2013 (or 2016?). Second, there should be a lot more white. There's usually several feet of snowpack this time a year. Both problems relate to Global Warming.
I fact, I just drove NM 126 from Cuba, NM to here. It was an easy drive. That should not be possible. 9 miles of NM 126 is a high country, graded road through narrow, sprucy canyons. It should be impassible in early February. But it was mostly dry. Shit.
Side note: Buddy just told me there's a Zen center in Jemez Springs. Had no idea.
I knew about the "retreat" there for Catholic priests who diddle kids. It's the church's idea of pervert prison. Can't recall the name. I call it Saint Herbert's.

Want to have your post on the map too?
A Zen Center with Hot Springs ;)
It's right next to the Catholic Monastery because they're the ones the Zen folks bought the land from.
