Daydreaming travel - Streets of São Paulo #4 / Calles de São Paulo #4 (eng/esp).
Tour around São Paulo isn’t over yet; this time we’re going to look over at some random things I found wandering by the city, from flower trucks to a more “traditional” part of the city, where its architecture it’s believed was the nest of modernism of São Paulo.

In Belém , with the creation of the Architecture course of the Federal University of Pará in 1964, architectural production began to deepen the efforts of the first designers, civil engineers and masters of works, who sought inspiration in the constructive forms imported from the United States and Europe to introduce Modernism into our Architecture. The first architects trained in Pará were civil engineers who occupied prominent public functions, while at the same time engaged in liberal activities in the best design and construction offices of the city. At that time there was a concern to bring to Bethlehem the novelties of modern architecture that spread in the Southeast of Brazil, especially in the cities of Rio and São Paulo, where pioneering examples of modern architecture served as a showcase: works by architects such as Flávio de Carvalho, Lucio Costa , Oscar Niemeyer and Affonso Reidy.

More to the south area of São Paulo, we find Av. Ipiranga . The street originated from the union of two "alleys" of the old São Paulo. One was the "alley of killing hunger" (which today would be in parts of Araujo and streets of consolation), existing since the late eighteenth century, crossing through muleteers and their cattle, which went to the slaughterhouse located in the neighborhood of Liberdade. The second was the "Callejón de Curros" in the vicinity of the current Plaza de la República.
Más a la zona sur de São Paulo, encontramos la Av. Ipiranga. La calle se originó de la unión de dos "callejones" de la antigua São Paulo. Uno era el "callejón de matar el hambre" (que hoy sería en partes de Araujo y calles de consolación), existente desde finales del siglo XVIII , cruzando a través de arrieros y sus ganados, que se dirigió hacia el matadero ubicado en el barrio de Liberdade . El segundo fue el "Callejón de Curros" en las proximidades de la actual Plaza de la República .

It is a very busy avenue, since it allows to be "access route" to the center of the city. Going through it while looking for the Italian Building (I'll be honest, I was lost), I realized that there were many florists. I could not understand the "simple" explanation they gave me, but apparently it is "Romeo's favorite place". Something I had never seen, caught my attention: A rolling florist. The owner told me that it is "more feasible" to move to where you get more people at the moment, places are usually quite popular places for lovers. Something that surprised me even more, was to see that they even had a cyclist messenger to take flowers anywhere and as fast as possible, regardless of traffic.
Es una avenida muy concurrida, ya que permite ser “ruta de acceso” al centro de la ciudad. Recorriéndola mientras buscaba la Torre Italia (seré sincera, estaba perdida), me percaté de que habían muchas floristerías. No logré entender la “simple” explicación que me dieron, pero aparentemente se trata del “lugar favorito de Romeo”. Algo que jamás había visto, llamó mi atención: Una floristería rodante. El dueño me comentó que le resulta “más factible” trasladarse a dónde consiga mayor cantidad de personas por el momento, las plazas suelen ser sitios bastante concurridos por los enamorados. Algo que me sorprendió aún más, fue ver que hasta tenían un mensajero ciclista para llevar las flores a cualquier parte y lo más rápido posible, sin importar el tráfico.

Now, right in the heart or center area of São Paulo is the Italian Building . How to enjoy São Paulo at a glance? It is enough to climb to the top of Edificio Italia, the second tallest skyscraper in the city. To do this, make your way to Ipiranga Avenue, the starting point of your adventure, and get ready for a climb of 165 meters. The strategic and most enjoyable point is the 46th and last floor; but do not hesitate to go through the 41st. There you will find an Italian restaurant, with panoramic view, the Terraço Italia, which offers a 360 ° view over the city.
¿Cómo disfrutar de São Paulo de un solo vistazo? Basta trepar hasta lo alto del Edificio Italia, el segundo rascacielos más alto de la ciudad. Para ello, ábrete camino hasta la avenida Ipiranga, el punto de partida de tu aventura, y prepárate para un ascenso de 165 metros. El punto estratégico y de mayor disfrute es la 46ª y última planta; pero no dudes en pasar por la 41ª. Allí encontrarás un restaurante italiano, con vista panorámica, el Terraço Italia, que ofrece una vista de 360° sobre la ciudad.

I love the first shot of the house, and the detailing there - a little old and neglected but somehow it adds tot he atmosphere... Also love your captures of the florist and delivery bike; not so the city buildings but they complete the story and make the other bits all the more charming... :)

Modern buildings may kill the local culture, that may make São Paulo look dull and identical to other cities. If the first building can be probably maintained, I can imaging how charming the city will be with similar well-maintained buildings alive in the city making it a culturally unique travel destination.
