Sorry about last time I mixed up Rio with São Paulo. :-)

Modern buildings may kill the local culture, that may make São Paulo look dull and identical to other cities. If the first building can be probably maintained, I can imaging how charming the city will be with similar well-maintained buildings alive in the city making it a culturally unique travel destination.
